My girlfriend is moving into a new apartment. Bell Fibe is not available in her new place. She has had Rogers in the past, and no longer wants to continue service with them.

Can anyone recommend a reliable Internet Provider for basic home use?

For the time being, she'll be tethering from her iPhone's data for basic work emails, internet browsing, etc. but once she is settled in, she'd like to go with a provider that isn't one of the big wigs, at an affordable price, with reliable connections, and decent customer service/support.

I've googled the options, but have had difficulties narrowing down the providers, as there seem to me a whack load to choose from.

Anyone have any experience with independent providers?

Thanks,
Peter

We just had a conversation about this in another thread.

I've been with Teksavvy for years now on DSL and more recently Cable.

It's great, fast, reliable, good support, cheap(er) than the big names, but with the same kind of speeds.

No throttling on Teksavvy's cable service, which uses Rogers infrastructure.

Please refer me if you join so I can save $1. smile

+1 on Teksavvy, have a number of friends on it. Have never heard anything negative about them.
