My car is a manual 95 talon awd and is making a horrible noise while turning and reversing. The sound seems to be coming from the front right but its hard to pin point while driving. I have had no luck identifying it and need your infinite wisdom to guide me towards a solution.

Usual suspects that I have ALREADY changed include:
-New front right wheel bearing
-New front right CV axle
-Brakes are all new around 3000kms
-New outer tie rod ends
-New rear control arms and complete bushings in rear end
-Transfercase replaced under warranty around 5years/ 5000kms ago
-New front straight control arms
-New rear wheel bearings
-replaced rear axles as old ones were fused to the hub by some ungodly forces.

I recently got the car back into running order as it has been sitting for around 2 years but this sound didn't reveal itself until after driving the car for about 100 kms.

Here's the link to 2 videos.

1st video - video 1
noise is at the 16,37,46 second mark

2nd video - video 2
rolling backwards with the engine off

The only thing I can think of is the driveshaft carrier bearings but would the driveshaft only make noise in cornering? as opposed to a constant noise.

It would be immensely helpful if someone has experienced this noise before and tells me its a 2 dollar gold plated mitsubishi washer needs replacing that will make the car run 9's ...

Thank you in advance DSM community

That's a new one to me and you've replaced the usual suspects for sure.

That rolling backwards vid makes me think you could jack it up and start turning the wheels and pinpoint it that way. You tried that already?

Carrier bearings can make a weird noise in a turn since it adds some side motion to the whole equation. Usually it will take a fairly severe turn at speed to get enough movement to make a difference, but you never know. I know I can get my driveshaft to sling a good amount under super-severe cornering.

If the car happens to have a welded center diff it could make a bad carrier bearing very apparent with the added stress on any sort of turning.

The front driving one sounded like a struggling PS pump (cavitation by air in the system)
Or a tire rubbing on someone. Aside from that, perhaps something is missing some grease. I'm just shooting from the hip here.
The reverse sound has me beat. Is it coming from the same area? Sticky ebrake?

Are the sidewall of the front tires scuffed? That would eliminate tire rubbing.

Vid 1 sounds like power steering issues to me as well.

Vid 2 almost sounds like the park brake.

Good luck.

Sidewalls are good, don't think its rubbing as the sound just started out of nowhere.

I've Been sick with the flu so haven't had a chance to look at it.

I'll bleed the PS system this weekend see if that gets rid of the grinding. I should be able to get it into the garage to raise it up and check the parking brake and bearings. I have a few more suspects to check now.

Thanks for all the input I'll update with what I find
