Good day all,

I would like your opinion on subj line. I have the set that is made by bullfab, pretty sure it's the one shown in that thread

Link

I'm planning on doing occasional road racing, nothing too serious and a few passes here and there. Wandering if it's going to decrease chassis rigidity or have any other effect. I'm basically only looking to free up a bit a space underneath. I'm also open to the idea of simply selling them.

What do you guys think?

I personally think stock is better then this Bulfab piece. Only reason is because how it it connected to the front subframe. My front cross member is stock but where the bushings "were" have been welded solid and made a big difference. Very solid.

IMHO I think the Bulfab pieces belong on a drag car. Like I said before because of the way those pieces attach to the subframe. Great way to save a bit of weight though!!

It is actually connected to the subframe with the 2 north-south bars. The thing I would probably add is the 2 brackets shown in the thread below. They connect both "lip" of the subframe together.

The thing that make me hesitate the most is the rod end connection. It is not a moment connection as the oem mbr which uses 3 bolts meaning they only transfer shear.

Regardless if you use those brackets the "north-south bars" have hiem joints which is great for suspension components not stiffening a chassis.

I never liked this piece. OEM crossmembers are more functional and rigid IMO. I'd use beat up rusted OEM ones rather than these.
