I've been thinking about replacing my rubber vacuum hose with silicone while doing the engine swap I'm in the middle of. cool

I've had a look around online trying to find out just how much I need. I found a kit online for a 2g Talon which is 32'. I have a 1g, I'd guess it's probably close but I want to be sure. I'm getting it through a buddy of mine.

So, for those of you out there that have silicone under the hood, how much did you use?

Any tips on installing it?

Cool. Thanks Nigel! Off hand, do you know the inner diameter of the hose you used?

I bought one of those kits @ CT. I purchased the blue ones, it looked kool under the hood but they didn't do so well with the temp under my hood. Two of the hoses colapsed under vacumm, I replaced them 2 times then I gave up and replaced all of my hoses back to the factory vacuum hoses (never had to touch them again) smile

I don't know maybe you'll have better luck, just my 2cents.

Tuning Tip: Red is a good color for all around performance, however with a big turbo blue gets upwards of 10 hp, unless you have stock cams, then only 5 hp. Purple is best for bottom end power, mix with red for excellent mid-range. For NT cars, shift all recommendations one hue towards a warmer color. Yellow hose should only be used on high compression NTs or turbo cars with welded differentials. Proper Sticker Tuning can be a successful work around for any of these concerns ;-P
That made me laugh. lol

Thats exactly why you don't buy those crappy kits that CT sells. You usually use 4 mm for most vacuum lines. If you replacing all the hoses with silicone you should get some 6,8 & 10 as well.
