With these shift light tachs, how does the tach know what gear you're in? Is there any extra parts to install?

The tach never knows what gear you're in. It just lights up at whatever you tell it to light up at...

There was a 2G on beaterz.com that had his mounted on top of the centre console, up and to the right of the driver's view...

I've got one in my car..didn't want to do it due to the riceboy effect, but I was always banging off the limiter without it. Stuck it off to the right just above the centre vent thing...works great; I'd be lost without it now!

Yeah Scott...I'm a 1G. I didn't have ANY room on the left due to my pillar gauge pod. If you put it on the right, be sure and put a plate of some sort on the inside of the dash piece, as the plastic is pretty weak and needs something to back it up.

That deal from birchmount colission place is a great deal specialy if its the white face one. Can you get more cause i want one.

Oh yeah the 5" tachs at performance impovements is not an auto meter brand i called and inquierd about them but they are the same look and same thing pretty much.
