Okay, I'll make this as simple as I can.
I need some advice, here. My baby's going in the garage for the next couple of months (those unpaid parking tickets jumped me, never saw 'em coming...), and my two big projects are the exhaust (from aft of the cat) and the shocks/struts/springs. Are there any mods (2 1/2" pipe, lowering kit) that I could reasonably handle myself? I don't want it to see the road again until everything's done, if possible.
Any help would be truly appreciated (and rewarded with a pint for those in the GTA).
Tim

exhausts are dirty crappy work and the exhaust shops can get it done 100 times faster than you. Leave it to them.

Any suspension repair can be done in the driveway with basic tools and by using Canadian Tires spring compressor in their loan a tool program. I've done everthing with my suspension with just the basic hand tools.

Although lowering a Talon with stiffer springs is about the best mod you can do, watch out for the AWD lowering problems that may occur. Search around for previous posts on my problems (ie. rear suspension probs)

Thank you for the words of wisdom...maybe I'll try those Energy Suspension bushings first and see how satisfied I am...assuming I can find a CT store that carries them! Can anyone in the GTA tell me for sure what stores stock them? As cheap as they are, I'm DYING to get them.

Thanks again.

Tim

Hi Tim. You should be able to get the Energy suspension bushing from any Craps store that has the Keystone catalogue. The "Auto Depot" in Mississauga can get them for you, and last I checked they were reasonably priced. Hey I have a brand new set of rear sway bar bushings, new in the box if you want them. They are $40 to buy new.
