Well, I don't post too much in here, but this one made me feel pretty good.
Hiway 1, straight, clean, level and dry. Not much traffic.
black WS-6 Transam coupe 6spd comes up beside me after I'd got on it pretty good thru 2nd and 3rd on the onramp.
Slowly passes me and looks my car over. gets in front of me. I get out to pass a slower car and am about 4 cars behind. Just cruising.
Suddenly he drops it down 2 gears and floors it. His car is LOUD! Sounds good too, not some redneck glasspacks or something, but good like a full Borla setup or something nice and tuned. I also smell some un-catalytic converter smells. Little richer than normal and definately no converters in there.
I roll on it to show I want some o-that push rod action, and to catch up. sitting at about 130
Get behind him again, and he drops 2 gears and gets on it hard again. I follow suit, except I stay in 5th While I am giving him the customary polite headstart(turbo lag) he pulls a car lenght. But once I hit full boost and get some revs on the clock, I start to slowly reel him in!
This is the part that I was pleased with, I didn't think I would be able to stay let alone gain, as he was clearly modified and alone in the car. I had a passenger, some goodies and a FULL tank of gas. Like 3km ago I had filled it right up.
He pulled over and I slowly passed and gave the thumbs up. He smiled and pulled off at the next exit.
BTW this was a dream only, and I thought I would share.

Nice! Showed up some of the big boys! I once raced a 97 TA from a stop to 160 and had him by a 1.5 lengths (he was reeling me in)... so I do not see why this isn't possible... sounds like a lot of fun!

I sense a paradigm shift in Peters future.
Same shift in a guy at work. Runs a Cutlass with a '69 455, 10.25/1, stage3 cam, 4bbl, HEI ignition and a nice dual exhaust. He also has a nice Eaton Posi in the rear. It is pretty badass and he was always poo-pooing the little 122cid 4cylinder I have.
Then I took him for a drive.
