SOO. Im driving around young and steels, around 2am. Im in the process of making a 'U' turn when i hear a screaming engine, then a flash of bluish-silver cut me off.
What a D***
So I'm behind him then speed up beside him, I see him slightly look at me while he sneers, then I hear 12 cylinders light up shoots ahead a little. then slows. "F*** it" I hear my self say. at 50kmph i drop it to 2nd and BOV rigth at his door and let off.. but his rich snooty a$$ floors it, but im still in 2nd........ ..... .......
he can't pass me.... I take it to the top of 3rd before we shut down and he couldn't pass me.....
not bad for a car I first bought for 500 bucks.

We have one or two of these in my little city now. A red one and yellow one. Red one was bought by like a twenty year old girl whose parents were killed in car accident and she inherited like 3 mill or something. She had like a 150,000 mercedes last year I got a ride in it know one of her x's and they are still friends. She sold the mercedes and now owns a new viper, the modena,a totally tricked out h2 with tons of custom work , a bmw z3 or something like that also.
1997 TALON AWD ,fully built 2.4,FP3065.
99TAWS6 427 Twin turbo,91 TALON race car,08 Z06.

Depends on the driver, but more on the car. Some of the owners are rich enough to mod them. And I believe their saying is, "There are Hondas and other normal cars that can keep up with you. But how long before their engines blow up?"

You hung with a 400HP Ferrari with your stock fuel system? He must have been a really shitty driver or maybe he is only running on 4 cylinders.

12.6 at 114 pretty sure. Which tranny doesn't matter much. Let me put it this way: if your AWD Talon runs a 12.6, and you raced the 360 on the highway (obviously from a good roll), he'd beat you. Because of drivetrain and aerodynamics. If you ET a 12.6 in an AWD, from 100-200 or whatever on the highway, you're equal acceleration to a 13 flat RWD car. Approximately, from my experiences only. No AWD launch here. Aerodynamics actually give you a bigger disadvantage as well. Off topic though. So if you run a 12.6 and would lose, how hard do you think he pushed his car against your 13.8 AWD if he "couldn't pass you"? Sorry to burst your bubble. Maybe the driver had a manual and only one arm? ...and one leg?

Jim.......DUH!!!
I know all this crap, I specificaly said i only used 2nd and 3rd gear. I KNOW what my car can do and i know what my car CAN"T do. On the highway I can't beat a regular c5 vett. but off the lights obviously i can put 4 car lengths on Z06vett in a second.
oh, and this race WAS from a roll
I guess alot of driver have ONE ARM and ONE LEG, like the 5.0 mustang with slicks driver. NSX drivers... Millions of honda drivers, porsche drivers, corvette drivers. What a sad world we live in eh Jim? I feel so lucky to have both my legs and my arms!

Wow, guess you can't read either. You're telling me that RWD cars you would get smoked by from a stop, you're able to beat from a roll? Think that one over and get back to me...but apparently you "know all that crap"

1.5sec 60'ft time? idono what rwd car I "Told" you could beat me, Jim.
Any ways. if anybody has a problem with my story, and have the balls say im lying, Set me up with a ferrari to prove me wrong or go f*ck yourself.

YIKES! bet ya' wished you never posted here ! Only you and the Ferrari driver know what went down , I enjoyed reading the story and can't understand all the flack you are getting . I raced a 1000cc Kawasaki once in my Plymouth Duster from a roll on . The guy didn't think I had a chance and I guess he did't feel the need to gear down enough. I killed Him until we got to about 120mph which was pretty close to my top speed ,no overdrive and 4.56 rear gear. I am sure only a hand full of people that didn't know me would have believed that story and lucky for me there was no internet back then. Simple fact is I caught him off guard , I knew it, He knew it and nobody gave me hard time for telling the story.

I occassionally have lunch with some guys who work at Maranello on Steeles. They said the new F430 is around the same price point, but it puts out 90hp more, and the technical features are second to none. A bit off topic, but then again, these cars are amazing. True, you can build a DSM to beat these cars in the 1/4mi with not very much money. But, as far as top-end goes or around a track, I'd much rather be in a Ferrari. But then if I could afford a Ferrari, I think I would have other things to conquer other than a nice timeslip.

That's probably the MSRP in US$. You probably surprised him. I used to let Honda-boys get the best of me with my DSM because I didn't feel the need to try. So would you really risk hurting your $200g ride to show up some kid in a $2000 car? I'd love to own one, but in real life I'd probably store it in a concrete bunker so it wouldn't get stolen... or even scratched.

Good story John & I'm sure was defently fun to play with but something is defently up. Either he couldn't drive or wasn't trying, look at the facts. You said yourself you can't beat a C5 vette from a roll, well I'd be willing to bet a 360 would have no problem pulling on a C5 from a roll. Look at the facts you have a stock fuel system, they crap out around 300hp. So a 360 has around 100 more hp, weighs less, has less drivetrain loss, more aerodynamics, etc. Now look at quarter mile Et's, their over a second faster then you to start with and Im sure being awd you have a few tenths on the 60 ft. To convert this you can usually double the 60ft and subtract it on the other end to "remove" the awd advantage, so now were probably looking at 1.5 or so seconds faster in the 1/4 & we all know their a top end/high speed kind car. I'm not arguing that you beat him, I'm just saying if the guy was really trying and knew how to drive, the chances of you winning are highly unlikely.

I don't think he could be that bad of a driver. I mean who can't throw a couple of gears and mash the pedal once it's moving? Unless he's shifting at 3k because he's afraid of high revs...

Guys,, 300hp for me is feasable, because I have beat a STi subaru ON THE HIGHWAY... Now im not arguing that I can pull a ferrari forever till I reach the top of 5th.
--His bumper was at my door, I hear him gun it.
I know what a ferrari sounds like at 3k and 5k. it was just under 5k..
At that moment my gear selector was in 2nd; RPM at 4500.
I redline, I Slam it into 3rd, I hear HIM shift (paddle shift for sure 'cuz no human could shift that fast) as I pull he's still beside my door
I think im at about 6100RPM.. i shut off..... I see the Ferrari go a head untill his REAR bumper is at my door, then HEAR him let off the throttle and brake lights come on. It slows like sombody put an anchor behind it. oh the best part HE does a RICER flybye, thats when I looked over to see how ANGRY he was.
Again... Me 2nd gear and 3rd gear, NOT A HIGHWAY RACE!!
Im in Niagra for vacation labor day. My college is in Oshawa.
SO I repeat my quesion.
Is cayuga still open the 2nd week of september?

John, Good kill man! It seems like half the people here don't beleive you because of their very statistical bench racing. Well let me tell you folks that I had a chance to drive and beat on a Ferrari 360 Modena the other day, and one thing for sure my car will lay the smack down on it say it be highway, from a roll , or a start, hands down. Also, before anyone says I wasn't driving it properly, I guess you just haven't seen my driving The Ferrari didn't produce the power as I expected, which I expected as it is just a 360,or maybe I'm just used to my DSM. Whats the big deal, because its a Ferrari, does the name mean that its unbeatable? Damn, if I started posting the kill stories I've had with some super cars, all the bench racers will pullout their calculators to do the math, lol. Anyways, I've layed the smack down and a few Ferrari's already, so I beleive you John. Good kill!

For me the STi kill is the harder one to beleive, especially at 15 psi . But I'm not going to call him a lier, I've seen strange things happen before.

If I had a super car I would race anytime, just for the fun of it. Isn't that the point? Entertainment, fun etc? Unless you're doing this for a living.
Every time I am next to a super car I always try to pass them - always, not matter how fast their going or what road we're on. I just have to get in front, and see if they will try to get back in front. If they do, I try to stay there. I KNOW 100% that they will pass me (because I have been driving Berettas for 5 years) and I do not expect to 'win' anything. I just want to have fun with them.
Today on my way to pick up my 1st DSM I saw a Mucielago on the 401 and he was working hard to weave and get ahead, but I could not catch up to him and he vanished.
Race'em if you got'em!
