I've always figured PPG shifts so slow because he has to pause to polish the shift knob after he touches it each time. I mean, what if someone happened to see it while it had finger prints on it? Oh, the humanity! Jeff Mitchell

I seem to recall that the "little trip to Ohio" did NOTHING for your timeslips or HP on the dyno... the car just badly needed tuning and adjusting, most notably the nut behind the wheel, who can't shift to save his life! This is an age old argument between you and I and I refuse to say more than 12's to 13's to 12's. When I followed the 10 Commandments my car ran 12's with a 16g. When I strayed...13's. When I returned to the true path...BINGO 12's again. This will be followed by some low 12's-high 11's. Maybe its a mental thing...but maybe its not. And yes my shifting sucks, but I still have a 12.54 DO YOU?Then there's the rule-breaking issue... HKS Cams in the 2001 calendar year. Some people just can't be trusted to their word. yes, you are right I "cheated" but my 12.54 was without the cams. I "broke" the rules at the end of the season in hopes of a last track visit. I'm sorry NOT! {for those of you wondering, Andy and I agreed NOT to add mods after the shootout} As for the FWD thingy... FWD guys have equal measured biceps, one is from spankin the monkey, the other from holding the steering wheel!! Jeff, my knob has finger prints on it...does yours? (not your own) BONG! I'll tell ya why I'm gonna beat you. It's simple. You suck under pressure. "When my car was running 13.2's" is a prime example. I beat ya with a 14.2.
Seems to me the thought of going up against The Nairdo just frightens you SO much you have NO idea what's going on.
Since you AWD guys can go down the strip with 1 hand on the wheel, I'm pretty sure I know what your pulling with the other. (And it's not that ultra slow gearshift...)
BING!
Now, I'll have all kinds of time to talk about DSMs, because I won't be busy fixing mine!

The only thing that sucks under pressure is my <p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:48.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:12.0pt'>BR 20G<o ></o ></span> but it blows 20psi pretty good too. Witty, very witty. However, I think you're mistaking the taste of AssoKinnaird on a platter, with the bitter taste of defeat. Don't worry about getting caught in the middle, Craig. I'll take the left lane, so you can smile and wave to PPG as we roll on by.....

ok, remind me on Thurs Steve, I'll grab the camera from work (but I'm sure when we are grabbing a pic of the other end of the PP, that toothy smile will have turned to a frown ) btw - maybe you two should find a 'hood ho' to commence the race?! only then would it become a true grudge match! budda-bing, budda-BONG! psssst... hey mark.. buddy.. don't blow my cover! I have to be on Steve's side -atleast I have to let him think that... we're car pooling, if I don't seem to be on his side, I'll be driving out there on my own (You gotta *know* that I think your car will be opening a HUGE can of whoop-a$$ !! and feeding Stevie a piece of humbling pie on that AssoKinnaird platter ) ...actually, come to think of it Steve hasn't even beat me in quite a while.. ok, his best slip is better than mine, but I can back mine up pass after pass, I can't recall that he can do that -but I'm not going there. I can't put the chips on the table right now with my car in storage... You and I both know only pansies race from a roll -but it's his only option!..I'd say he's worried he'll have to take a polaroid of your front end and stick it to his rearview to give him that faux kicking PPG's ass effect!! (hey.. maybe we could market an idea like that to the Huh-duh crowd ) [ November 17, 2001: Message edited by: Craig Watson ]

Ok, Ok, OK. I've been waiting on the side lines here reading all this blow. I'm just waiting til I make a little trip of my own. A chip here, an exhaust there, and I'll ride with any of ya. In fact, I'll just mount the video camera on my rear bumper, so I can record it all. HA! >-<

I can back up some times, that are VERY close to my personal best, time after time without lowering my tire pressure, dropping my exhaust... As for starting from a roll, I believe it was YOU (you purple FREAK!) who claimed you could do it!! You AWD guys (that includes YOU Ian!)... WHEN are you gonna learn the fun BEGINS at 100. Any fool can stutterbox a 5500 RPM launch with an AWD into a good 60' time. Let's see you DRIVE something to a good E.T. I see it's turned into a 3 against one on the UBB... why don't you other 2 monkeys bring your cars as well.. I'll make it a clean sweep!! FWD Rules!

.... and I'll meet you there. As soon as I get out of the restaurant after my beer and wings.
Actaully, I do believe I admitted you'd kick my ass in a regular 1/4 mile race. 12.5 will beat 13.6 any time. (I should hope so, after you spent your kids college fund making that purple beast fast!!) I commented on the superiority of FWD from a roll, and you jumped at the chance to take me there. (Sorry, TRY to take me there.)
Remember, I've driven a couple AWDs. (Thanks, Andy and Sean!!) After 1st gear, they're BORING!!
I just tell you guys "Oh, ya, this thing HAULS!" so I don't hurt your feelings....

Okay, PPG. I seem to recall that when we used your datalogger for a pass down the 1320 in my car, you said I shifted really well. Sooo...I WILL kick your ass! haha Maybe we should race from a roll though, unless you put it in FWD mode Whoops, need to change that sig, and my homepage, but you know what you're up against [ November 18, 2001: Message edited by: Dennis Wong ]

We might.... if you actually were beautiful...
Everyone scroll back up the page now... keep sctolling, until you see the "ass kicking sticker shot".
See what I see in the background of the mirror?
That's right. The garage. And that's all the purple beast ever sees either...
And before you get started about mine...
Bring it on.
I may not have a 12.5 slip, but I also only have ONE slip this year, thanks to my good samaratin nature... and it was a 13.2 on a warm-up pass.
Bring it on.
The intake leaks are fixed, the car won't start without a jumper wire, it won't idle, and it's still way too rich at the top end.... but still I say...
Bring it on.
Bug splatters on the windshield, bumper, and badly in need of a clean coat of wax, but still I say...
Bring it on.
You can drop your exhaust, strip your interior, polish your knobs, or put on your snow tires, and still I'll say...
Bring it on.

Well.... As i always say the proof is in the pudding. I asked PPG not once but twice (he even said "you don't have to ask twice"!) to go for a run to see how well the S4 would do using the PP car as a bench mark. But I guess the intimidation got the better of him, 'cause I asked a third time, and PPG comes up with the lame "mommy's calling me for dinner" routine. Pathetic, just pathetic. Oh, by the way..... as usual, he did have lots of time to wash and polish it, and then back back into the little purple nest he has for it. I guess its hibernation time now eh Mark?javascript: x() Razz
