Car won't start because the fuel pump does not turn on. When I try to turn it on using the 'test outlet' behind the battery, it turns on for a few seconds and then stops and the jump-wire heats up. If I keep turning it on and off and on again (only works with that test thing), eventually I hear fuel entering the fuel rail. When I try to turn it on using the ignition I hear no fuel pump, but I hear some sort of whirring coming from the engine for a second, and another second when I shut the car off.
The relay was removed and checked, it is fine, there is 12 volts going to it at the connector too. The ECU is fine, the fuel pump is brand new, I also tried with a spare fuel pump. I tried two different assemblies aswell, the fuse looks fine to me, there are no errors when I check with the Datalogger, and I do get an inj. pulse width when I try to start it. I shorted out a wire and blew the ignition fuse days before the pump stopped turning on, could it just be something with the wiring that I can rewire? I have already been brutally raped by Satan and all they did was damage things (can you say 'fuel fitting' arrgghh).

If you have a 1G the pump does not run until you turn the key to the 'start' postion. But I have no idea why it only runs for a few seconds using the test wire

Make sure you don't have a pump wire pinched between the sending unit and the fuel tank.
Try running the pump (briefly) out of the tank/sending unit.
Now, I'll have all kinds of time to talk about DSMs, because I won't be busy fixing mine!

I rewired/reinsulated the fuel pump assembly and now it runs. Stalls if I rev and let off though, I checked the connector and it gets very low voltage so I'm going to have to rewire some other stuff, at least it runs though.
Yeah when Tremors came out (I was quite young) I cut out all the ads and always went crazy when I saw my name all over the place, best KB movie I think. But Footloose is getting on my nerves, every single time I meet a new person they ask if I can do the dance, someday I should learn. As for Wild Things... no comment.
