I'm going to lower my 90 TSi by 1.5" with the eibach springs just wondering if I can just slap those on or do I need a camber kit? Not a drastic drop but do I need anything else other than the springs?

Your camber will be off in the back and you will get premature tire wear, but its not so drastic, plus the rear camber is slightly adjustable on awd cars. If its a fwd i dont think you have to worry about the rear camber.

Yes it does, lowering you car won't affect the "Rear Camber" since FWD have a "Solid Rear Axle".

Don't know if you'll need a Camber Kit for the Front but you can buy a cheap one for about $33U$.

Hope this helps.

Does anyone know for sure if I will need a camber kit for the front on my 90 TSi FWD? Has anyone lowered a 1G FWD that could tell me?

Hey Alex,

I just lowered my 92 Tsi FWD with eibach sportlines.

I didnt get a camber kit nor do I think I will need one. This is my second DSM that I have lowered with these springs and I havent had any camber problems.

If you need any more info let me know.

You will need a camber kit. I have the H&R springs on my 90 FWD and without the camber bolts you will have way too much negative camber. All the mechanics I have talked to recommend no more that -1 degree for street use. The camber bolts are easy to find at any jobber store. TRW are the nicest ones I have seen.

What if you are using coil overs to lower your 1G dsm... I'm considering doing it... It too is a FWD

It makes no difference HOW the car is lowered--using coilovers or whatever. It's only important how much. After you've lowered the car, get an alignment. If it's out of spec, you'll need some kind of adjustment kit/mod. If it's within specs, no adjustment kit/mod needed. It's that simple.

THanks guys but it seems that most people that I have talked to on and off the net have recommended the eibach Sportlines and most of them using the Sportlines have not used camber kits.
