Anyone running one of these bad boys? AFAIK there are a couple being built up in the states right now, but I've not heard of any locally in street cars.
Is it worth the cost of entry? Opinions?

I'm coming out of the closet. I'm building my own. It should end up being a little cheaper than Magnus. But he does quality work, you pay for what you get. If you were to build an all-out 6 bolt race motor with forged pistons, the cost differential between the 2.0 and the 2.4 is minimal. The additional costs would be the crank, block, and cam gears. There might be some minor (optional) additional machine work..... Other parts are different, but you would have to buy them anyway, like the timing belt and head gasket. The cam gears are less than $20.00 USD each, and as for the block/crank, its how lucky you can get.... Killer torque is the goal of this mod, not a high rpm screamer. Perhaps the perfect race motor is the 2.0, but for the street, the 2.4 will be king. IMHO

Well my setup is no secret... 9:1 2.4 with a 60-1 trim on no more than 20psi. Shouldnt be TOO hard to beat, eh? lol I bet I wont have that setup running until late summer though, so you probably wont get to race it.

hummmm. count me in on this. i think i will be able to give most of you your ass's lol But my question is who builds good motors for a good price. what is the average price to built the bottom end of a 4g63? if i hand the guy's all the parts and the block all apart and they do not have to bore the cyclinder's at all. what would this cost???

Chris - Trailer queen? Sorry, but when you start breaking axles at the track, and you have no spares, its wise to trailer. But your wood will never have the pleasure of snapping axles, so you won't have to worry. P.S. I put almost 10000km's on it in 4 months, not bad for a "trailer queen". How about you bring your wood over here, so I don't have to waste my time? Oh, P.P.S. Get your cars running before you make threats your ass can't cash .

I have been trying to for the past three or four months. No one wants to purchase it for a decent price, so the car will be getting a bit of a re working this winter, and I will be running Pro Street again next year.

Well, it been a lot fun throwing taunts arounds, and whatnot. But let me hit rewind for just one sec. Read my original post again. I said "the 2.4 will be king".... Yes, after its built, tested, and tuned. "Will" is future tense. My engine is in many pieces right now. Ian, you took this as a personal challange (I'm sure in a very good natured way). But you're the one that started this: "How about we have a battle next year, all the 2.0's vs. the 2.4's? Muahahha " You're the one that challanged the 2.4's. That hardly makes me or Jeff a "shooter". But I can lay down the smack anytime.

Bah, we all know that in the end, the guy with more money under the hood will eventually win... Ian I'm sure you're spending twice as much as Chris or I are on our 2.4s so it won't be fair to pit our cars against yours. But hey, you had your shot at a 2.4 if I remember right about a month ago... and if I recall correctly, you got a face full of CHUTE at the end of the 1320!

You obviously haven't seen the two cars in person, otherwise you wouldn't be saying that. This is friendly trash talk between a few guys who know eachother (at least Ian and I do). You dont have to come in and insult the guy and his car, and then come back with the standard ricer comment of "we'll see next year". Well next year Ian is gonna be packin more power than he is now, so unless you've got about 30 grand in your bank account waiting to drop it in your DSM, you better step back and think about who you're calling out.

hahahaha, people truly are morons when it comes to others cars. Alright, let me clear some stuff up for you. In May with the new setup, Marco drove the car 5 times, I drove it 8 times. Guess what the difference was in our times buddy? 12.499@112mph to my 12.521@114.8mph. Wow, a huge gap!
As for the MPH, well 11.77@111.94mph isn't huge. And my 126MPH was done on a busted axle, hrmm. This could get interesting now couldn't it Jeff ol' buddy? My 11 second passes were done with a BLOWN IC pipe. I am the ONLY person to have achieved 11's in my car. I know how to drive, but the car breaks. That is obviously something you wouldn't know much about, because you make sh!t for power.
As for AF, well when I have 150shot on top of my car, maybe I to would hit a better number. But I don't, he makes 590 on the turbo, and does 10's, but he makes a shitload more torque, and weighs about 400lbs less then me. There is also a few other suttle differences that I won't disclose.
Hmm, how about that for shutting you the frack up? Guess what shooter, I made good MPH on a bad day, and good ET's on a bad day. sh!t happens when you race, and its the first season for the car. I am not the champ for no reason, skill has a bit to do with it. If you think you can do better, come on out and try me. So maybe you should learn the damn facts before you speak.
As for being unbeatable, guess what this is sh!t talking. Your supposed to joke around, I know I can be beaten. So shut the frack up and take a joke like its meant to be taken.
Hows that for the truth?

Darko - I am only putting in about 5k this whole year for the car. I don't really think much more needs to be done to it. Yea I got my ass pumped by a particular 2.4, no two shits about that! hahaha
Jeff - The above was stating facts (reference to my above post), but it was also a bit harsh towards you. I am still rather pissed off with what you think are "facts". Firstly, that DSMotorsports car is a 130mph car, it did that 10.8x with a 1.5 60'! I could never hook that in my life, nor could the car! As for power, I make 526.6whp, 407ft lbs. So yes, theoretically it could hit a low 11. I usually trap 123-124, so use that for your basis. I know a lot of cars that trap in my area and are doing mid to high 11's.
No two cars are alike, and trust me I can drive. If you ever saw me drive the car, you would realize I never beat on it. Sure if I hand the keys over to Marco he could probably squeeze out a better time, but if he breaks it, he doesn't pay for it now does he? That's the difference of ownership, and being a driver for someone.
P.S. I did various 13.7's@97.xxmph with 1.6 60's on a T25. Its easy to throw stones when you drive a slow car, then when you have a fast car. Until you have your 11 second car, you don't even know how it feels to drive one, or how different it is.

By the time this 2.4 is in my car I'll be about $6000 in the hole. By the time the new turbo and standalone are in, I'll be at the $10000 mark I think. Of course this is assuming I don't sell any of my stock parts and do trades... I think Im gonna be sick

Guys chill out!
Jeff-- Whether Ian can drive or not, isn't really for us to judge. Come on, everyone thinks they are a king when it comes to driving. At the end of the day he runs high 11's which says something (good) about his car/driving skill. His car runs quick with him driving either way.
Hey guys, I'll bite into your 2.0 vs 2.4 shootout next year. Always up for a race.

Jeff - I don't think I ever really called you out on anything. I was joking around, and then you started to insult my driving ability, etc. Well, when you get your FIRST 11 second slip, gimme a call. Good luck on your venture to knock me off the first place spot, hope you succeed. There are going to be a few other cars you will have to get through though, a couple 650+whp supra's, a 620whp MR2, etc. So don't think cause you got through me, your the fastest. Once again, good luck, and I look forward to our encounter.
