There are couple little tags on both the tranny and transfer case saying FWD<->AWD. It's just two retainer bolts that you remove to convert it to FWD. Yes, you can run the car in FWD indefinitely if you choose. I got mine in about a month ago... no problems so far and shifts smoothly. ------------------ Miguel de la Bastide1990 Talon TSi AWD Black ('91 Galant Tranny) 1990 Talon TSi AWD Champagne (RIP)

</font> Do you save gas mileage when in FWD mode? I think you would.. What do I need to convert my AWD to a switcheable one? And are there any trannies that can allow us to switch "on the fly?" [This message has been edited by Leon Hui (edited July 15, 2001).]

Leon: Yes, you will save on gas on FWD mode. I had severe second gear grinding and decided to buy a J-spec Galant tranny with the transfer case from Magnus, instead of rebuilding my old tranny. No, it does not switch on the fly. You have to go under the car to remove the retainer bolts.
