Well guys, it seems the time has come for me to give up on this venture. I have beaten my head against the wall enough!!
Between the bad service I get from suppliers, and then you guys are always looking for the cheapest way out, even if it means buying smuggled or stolen goods, .... I have given up trying to compete with crooks and ebay!!
I will no longer be placing any orders, other than what I have already told people I will be ordering in for them.
I will be offering good pricing on anything I have left in stock just to get rid of it...about $25,000USD worth, so I just might have what you are looking for....
PM me with what you need, and I will let you know if I have it....
Thanks, Ziggy

Sorry to hear that man. It's true that this board is full of cheap low ballers. It's a damn tough market to be in so I hope for your sake that your manufacturing businees blooms.
It's no secret that you worked your ass off for minimal profits and tried your best to compete. I think I speak for the majority of us and saying that we appreciated your hard work.
If you got the time, it might be worth your time to compose a list of DSM parts you have there that you want to get rid of. There's probably all kinds of things people are looking for that you might have.
For example I'm on the look out for well priced injectors.
Take care Ziggy, Noah

Injectors I never stocked a lot, as it was an area I coudln't compete. I have one set of the Lucas 550's disk style, reg $299. plus taxes, will let them go for $250. plus taxes.
Yes, I worked my ass off, but only a few guys really appreciated it. I always ran a legitimate business, paid my taxes, and for my troubles I got called a vulture, among other things. What put me over the top is to see a little crook who smuggles his stuff in, if it isn't stolen as well, and pays no taxes selling triple what i can, and then everyone rating him a "good guy" because he got them decent pricing. Guess those guys haven't figured out that the reason taxes are as high as they are is because of all the business being conducted without taxes being charged.. Enjoy the bargains while you can, it has to be paid for somehow!!
I am not going to spend time on a list....I have spent enough time on this stuff...right now I am tempted to take Rob's offer, LOL...

I have your valves, will bring them to the meet tomorrow...
I will still fill the orders I have already taken, and I will continue to distribute the license plate frames to raise money for this board..and I would imagine it will be quite some time before everything I have is sold, cause I have a TON of stuff for your cars...so I will be around the board for a while yet, just not going to bother taking new orders and and trying to compete against crooks! I WILL, however, be reporting those crooks to the authorities...

I am pretty sad your leaving. I luv'd your customer service and your honesty. Well, since your trying to get rid of your items, I will need a set of KYB AGX's for a FWD if you have them. I will pay the normal amount.
-coupler: (blue) 3" to 2.5" this is not for the GM translater, it is for my Non turbo throttle. can you tell me what other sizes you have, and what shape.
If you can give me a general idea of what you have in your inventory, I can try and help you. I can buy the things I keep as a spare in case my car breaks.
Also looking for a clutch soon. ACT 2600 for a FWD tranny. (is there a difference between the FWD and AWD?)

Sad to see you leaving Ziggy. I only ever got to buy my suspension bushings from you, but when there was a mix up with one of the parts, you had it shipped out to me as soon as you received it. I just wanted to let you know that I really appreciated it.
I just thought I would ask for the rest of the crew whether you're giving up the re-sale part, and will still be doing your custom work on shift knobs, etc. or if you are calling quits on it all?
I'll probably be dropping you an email or PM a little later this week to find out about some parts.
Once again Ziggy, your help will definitely be missed! Thanks for everything.

Ya know, its too bad that people always put price before service. Thats the reason why stores like walmart at doing so well. I for one love going onto a mom and pop store, where they know you, and are pleased ot see you ( Store greeter is not the same) Sure you pay more but you get what you pay for. My mechanic is the same. He charges a bit more then most, but he was work wonders as well. And I see it as justified.
The whole import shop scene is a tough racket to compete in, and I personally would not touch it with a 10 foot pole, cause of all the shady crap that goes on with. Unfortunatly it claimed another one who was trying to be honest.

I don;t think you should be doing this, only because every business has it's rough times. It happened to my family twice, but my parents stuck it out. The only thing that made my parents go bankrupt was $10 000 in jewelry that was stolen from our store, even after that, my parents stuck it out for 3 months and then finally no choice but to claim the loss. All I'm saying is you should maybe try to get rid of most of your stock and keep a small inventory but keep making orders. The guy is technically not smuggling them, they are claimed and he's gets them legitimately. Just because he gets them at cost or jobber, doesn't neccessarily make him a crook. I'm not trying to take sides, but I don't think a few fidanza's should drive you out. I could use some 3g lifters, if you have them in stock, how much do you want for 16?

It is very unfortunate that you are going out of business Ziggy, i was going to stay clear of this but you keep bringing it up. I dont smuggle anything, i never cross the border to get anything so i have no idea what you are talking about. Nothing is stolen either, i sold a few fidanzas? What is the harm in that, i was passing on a good deal. I gave everyone a tracking # showing the package coming to my house. How is that smuggling? Everything was done legitametly. I paid all the duties that UPS gave me and sent out the packages to everyone. No one seemed to have a problem with anything they recieved. Just because my price was much better then yours since i wasnt going through so many middle men you go and call me a crook. Go ahead and report whatever "activity" you want to the "authorities" as ive done nothing wrong and dont have anything to hide.
I dont know why you mention competeting with crooks, no one on this board was selling anything to compete with you. From the looks of it only special deals were posted. If you are going to blame anything you can blame your own business tactics Ziggy. Buying supply from a reseller and then reselling it again does not work. In this day in age with the internet anyone can go and compare prices and find the best deal. It is no secret, It is very hard for a business to survive. There is hundreds of business's to buy from. People want the cheapest price and the most for their dollar. In terms of service as long as questions are answered and products are delivered that is enough for most people. I do not understand why you keep mentioning me, i sold a few fidanzas and 1 ACT. I can post the tracking #'s to both the fidanza package and the ACT showing the package with UPS coming to my house. Not me driving over "smuggling" or stealing. Ziggy quit blaming me for your ****, i really dont think anyone cares. Report me to whatever, false accusations are a criminal offense so i hope you have some proof.

Petie, I am not going to waste time arguing with an illiterate crook. Just because UPS brings them to the door, it doesn't mean they aren't smuggled. If you claim new parts as used, or put on a false value, the goods are in the country illegally, and subject to confiscation. Like you said, you don't need to explain this to me or to anyone on this board..just to Revenue Canada. If you have legit paperwork, then you have nothing to worry about. If not, don't bend over if you drop the soap!
I would quote you where you said for 9 big boxes of headlights, with a $2,000 value, just put $10. on the paperwork and have UPS deliver it. You said it was "done all the time".... but that was back before you were booted, when you were still using your real name...another rule that I guess has either changed or is selectively enforced..

Guys, keep this off the public board please.
And Ziggy, people like myself will still always use you. I wouldn't even sell pete my 14b today cause of who he is.
Don't let these punks get to you Ziggy. They all talk a big game behind their keyboards, so don't lower yourself to their levels.

another rule that I guess has either changed or is selectively enforced.. Christ. We go with a "black/white" and zero tolerance style of rule enforcement, and you didn't like it when you were told "this is the way it is, if you don't like it, go to another board". We loosen up a bit, don't "patrol" every thread, and now we're "selectively moderating". Make up your mind. As for the "real name" rule, if you think Pete is the only one on here under an assumed name, you're insane. I know for a fact that others who claimed they would "never come back" here have signed up again under a different name (right, Mike D?). Short of having people show us some photo ID in person, it's pretty hard to actively monitor it. Topic: I'll miss the convenience of getting stuff from you, Ziggy, but I understand why you want to get out of DSM parts. You're not the first vendor to get pissed off / frustrated with how cheap most DSMers have become.
Now, I'll have all kinds of time to talk about DSMs, because I won't be busy fixing mine!

I don't stock magnecore wires. I have been giving this a lot of thought. I made my decision in an instant, but I still haven't fully thought through how to wind down. One thing I know I WON'T do is give firesale prices to the cheapasses who always went to ebay to save a dime...they can keep going there. Bargains are going to be for repeat customers only...
The rule change comment was a little dig at Andrew, who would never admit that anyone is treated any differently than anyone else...or that selective enforcement exists....
I wonder if Petie J would have been shut down if he was selling DSM link??? Or would that be ok, as long as it is just smuggled, not pirated?

Truthfully, giving deals to the guys who bought stuff off of you while you were open is the way to go. I had refered my friends to you several times as well as wanted to get stuff through you in the past. It was all just bad timing on my part. My daughter was born, two weeks later I was jobless.... all been an uphill battle since then. Finally starting to get back to normal!
Again, good luck with your future projects.
Are you still going to be doing your own parts etc? The machined/polished shift knobs etc etc etc?!? Those were really nice pieces.

I wouldn't say we treat anyone differently than anyone else. We can't catch everything, and it's a team effort which means some people are going to enforce rules a little differently than others. I tried enforcing everything I saw for a bit, but was accused of having a "God complex". We do the best we can with what we got. As I've said several times before: It's not perfect. I wouldn't say anyone gets any preferential treatment. If we stop somebody on our suspicions, you'll say we're too hard on them, or selectively enforcing rules on who we want to. If we wait for concrete proof, you'll say we're not doing anything fast enough, or that we're "letting it happen", or that we're trying to take the role of the police. Should we just start banning people because somebody claims they are doing something illegal? Doesn't seem fair to me. Too much room for mistakes. You see, Ziggy, it doesn't matter WHAT we do. Sometimes, in some people's eyes, we're always wrong. You crucified us for booting a guy who admitted to selling pirated DSMLinks. Now, you're starting to do the same for us NOT booting a guy who is (APPARENTLY) selling smuggled goods? You claim there isn't enough consistancy in our moderating? Where's the consistancy in your opninion of how we should handle things on our UBB? You've already said you're going to the authorities. Good. Then the people who are SUPPOSED to deal with this kind of stuff, can. (We're a group of guys that do this in our SPARE time. We're not the police, we're not immigration, and we're not Canada customs.) Why not just do that instead of making cracks about how we moderate the UBB (that very same UBB that you tried to build a customer base from), or taking digs at the guy who runs it? I wonder if Petie J would have been shut down if he was selling DSM link??? Or would that be ok, as long as it is just smuggled, not pirated?
Funny you should dig this back up. Mike Druciarek (sp?) IS back on here as well. Under an assumed name. We didn't boot him off a second time, either. I think you've just helped Andy prove his point rather well.
Now, I'll have all kinds of time to talk about DSMs, because I won't be busy fixing mine!

One thing I know I WON'T do is give firesale prices to the cheapasses who always went to ebay to save a dime Ziggy, the few times we've talked either in pm's or in person you've always been a nice guy. I know your pissed off, but I don't think theres a need for you to be insulting people who are just looking for a good deal. I'm in retail (and manufacturing) myself, and I know what its like to deal with people who just want things cheap cheap cheap. Its fustrating, but at the same time, your not going to find too many customers in this business that don't search around for pricing. I know personally, if I had a choice between buying something that I could get through you for $500 or ebay for $450, it wouldn't take me too long to decide. Its just a sad truth. If you're pissed off at someone for stealing your business away, I think that's something thats best done in private. If you're pissed off at us for being pennywise, then I'm sorry, but I think you're venting to the wrong crowd. Nothing personal, just my 1 cent (I'm too cheap to give my other penny)

I ain't getting involved directly with this one...I thought BUT I will say, I know how you feel. You know I went through this with Buschur Racing a few years back. I got stuck with all kinds of sh!t and struggled and took a loss on some stuff just to get rid of it. It's ALWAYS going to happen. You just have to trust that SOME people will buy from you, not because it's the cheapest, but because its the most logical/reliable way. If you are having issues with Slowboy, maybe you need to change vendors? As for this board. Don't go on and on about how poorly this board is run (I'm sick of hearing it from you as its been going on for a couple years now). It has NOTHING to do with what you are going through. I'm a founder and moderator of this place and I went through it with BR. Leave the board out of it. It's not your problem. Now quit the bitching all around (everyone) or this thread gets locked.

Ziggy, isn't slandering a criminal offence? Especially in public place such as this? It's funny how I went to you after Peter told me not to, I should listen to my friends more often. Revenue is nto going to care, a few bucks, please. Maybe if he "smuggled" 10g's + then they would care, but a few bucks, c'mon.

I agree with the moderators. Just because you are angry that someone has WAY cheaper prices then you, you shouldnt blame the mods for not "kicking" that person off. And then trying to come up with excuses for the mods to kick that person off smuggling, stolen etc. Its amazing how you go from smuggling to stolen. So you are basically trying to get the moderators of the board to kill off anyone that has something for sale that is competing with you.
Second, crying about someone having cheaper prices is no excuse. This is a DSM forum where 90% of the people have the common goal of going fast for CHEAP. These cars arent high end machines, they are a CHEAP thrill ride that the average person can enjoy. DSMers tend to look for the "best bang for the buck", if there is a opportunity to save some money people will take it. This is exactly what Mike Vince is talking about. Why are you blaming ebay, the "cheap asses" on the forum and the supposed "crooks" which you labeled for your own failure. I know you may be angry and upset but you should be able to rebound from this. This isnt an easy crowd to sell to.
Third, Ziggy do you honestly believe the moderators have a agenda to defend you everyway possible? This is an open forum, and you can see this by the different sections. This board wont favour a certain seller over others. Unless of course someone is scamming someone else.
Ziggy stop bringing me up, you are making it seem like i opened up a store and suddenly sucked away all your sales, dude i sold a few fidanzas and 1 ACT! I didnt make jack****! Look how low the pricing was, how much profit did you think i made. I just passed on a good deal and everyone that purchased was HAPPY. Stop crying, go and report me to the "authorities" already!

Dominik, it is only slander if it is a lie . And it is ok to smuggle if it is only a few bucks? Is it ok to beat someone up if you don't kill him? Or rob him, as long as you don't take all his money?

I had a long thing written here, then lost it Mike, I agree we all want a bargain....but don't you question why someone else is able to sell without charging taxes? Do you still want the bargain if it is black market? If you are in manufacturing and sales, then you must have an appreciation for how difficult it would be to comepete on an uneven field. Otherwise, yes, if there is a big price difference, I don't expect to make a sale. I send people to Kinetic for injectors and to Nick Boers for intercoolers, because I know I can't compete with them. I do get annoyed, though, when you answer 100 questions for someone, and then they go elsewhere for $5. As for the board, you guys are right. I like to bitch. I have a lot of respect for Andrew, and will continue to run the fundraiser for the board selling license plate frames. And yes, a 17 year old punk selling a couple items is not the only reason for giving up. The problem is more with my supplier. However, after being branded a vulture myself, to see a 17 year old criminal punk labelled a "good guy", well, that is just what put me "over the top"! I had considered just switching suppliers, but no one else has the depth of product line Slowboy does. I just know I am going to be asked repeatedly for items I can't get anywhere else. If I were just a 17 year old punk trying to make a couple bucks, it wouldn't matter....but to try to earn a living at this, it just isn't worthwile. My disappointment is not with the mods or with Petie J himself....he is just a stupid punk kid who doesn't know any better...my real disappointment is that the members of this board would buy from him knowing they are getting their savings because goods are smuggled, and then on top of that commend him for it, LOL

Ziggy are you really "LOL". You are sounding more sadder then ever, now you are saying you are angry that someone left a good guy. Time to take a time out children. Second of all, who the hell would question about charging taxes? What IDIOT would specifically ASK TO BE TAXED on goods they are buying. Why arent the people selling their dsm stuff "charging taxes"? I dont have to charge any sales tax since i am not a retail business and do not sell remotely enough to be considered one. I am going to charge taxes for my $20 profit?

Well before a mod gets around to locking if not deleting this thread I may as well say it as I see it.
Ziggy, you worked hard to make a honest buck but right from the start you were told two things one that you would have a tough time making a buck from the cheap bastards on here and second you need a thicker skin. The board, ebay, underhanded sellers arent the problem as all the other vendors have to deal with them too. The problem is trying to provide for resale a full line of products as a part time sideline. Even the big boys have problems doing it full time.
Instead of trying to do it all you should have selected products that you could either manufacture like your covers, tie downs and knobs or a few products you could move in quantity and augment with your parts like install kits for a line of intercoolers. From there expand as success and demand allows.
Pete/Victor may be an ignorant pain in the ass but he does have some valid points. The only problem is that he loses any credibility when he cant be up front and honest enough to use his real name..whatever it is.
Both of you have benefitted from this board and its members so dont sh!t where you eat. Both of you have screwed up for different reasons and none of them have to do with the board.
Ziggy if you have inventory you want to move then post a list at whatever price you think is fair. If you want to continue with your parts business I suggest you hire a motivated salesman with product knowledge like Pete and work together.

I want to say I had a business 15 year ago or so in speed parts and audio video. We did pretty good on the audio /video then the big chains came to town and my city even had the nerve to give them no business taxes for like 5 years for coming to town and employing people. What was I doing!! It was near impossible to compete .People generally are shoppers and will go to the lowest price ,service don't mean much to most people. I tend to understand that a bit higher price with better service can be a good thing but I am an old dinosaur it seems ,soon to be extinct. And if you as a businessman want to blame ,blame the government. They create the underground economy with their stupid GST promised serveral times to get rid of and their PST. And we private citizens don't have to collect the gst it makes it all that much more harder to compete. It creates a very unfair playing field. But hey the stupid government seems here to stay. And not sure a change in government will get rid of gst and the provincial governments love their pst too. That is why I shut down my businesses and refuse to start another one.

Pete/Victor if you can get one of the mods to post your email or PM where YOU "asked" for your name to be posted under your avatar then I will retract my statement. We both know that was added by the mods as a public service to the rest of the members not because you asked for it there. As long as the mods dont have a problem and people seem to be happy with your transactions past and present then carry on. But skip the I like to be upfront stuff because if you were then you could have posted it in your profile, signed up with a similiar name or asked the mods to reinstate your old one. Sorry Zig I am done. Maybe start a new post with the parts you want to sell
