I actually didn't want to post this just yet. I wanted to wait until all the stuff from Zeitronix and the AEM Uego's were all delivered. HOWEVER, I have had quite a few guys recently contact me about pricing on an ACT 2100 clutch kit. AT LEAST 4 guys have asked, and they have all said they are planning to get one very soon, probably spring....so I got thinking...."group buy"....and I have told them all to wait for a bit..
My everyday price on these is ALREADY pretty good at $429.95 plus taxes (I saw another vendor offer one on the board here for over $580. plus taxes). In any case, if we can get the numbers up, I will take even less profit on each, and we can save a little on the shipping to me also. Also, our dollar is still sitting pretty strong!
Ok, that price is at my door in Hamilton. Shipping from me to you is extra, as are taxes, and if paying by credit card or paypal, it is 3.5% more! Now, having said that, I am proposing if we get FOUR guys together, I can do them at $409.95 plus shipping, tax, etc. If we can get FIVE to EIGHT guys, $395. each. Over 9 guys, I will go back to my supplier and see what he will do for me, but I would be shooting for around $380. each. I won't confirm that until we are getting close...
Like I said, I am in no huge rush to get this going, I want to finish AEM and Zeitronix before we really DO anything here, but since so many people have asked, and I have asked them to hold off, I thought perhaps I should at least get people thinking about it....
Maybe start a list of names of who is interested?

Ok, I will need to look into pricing on the 2600's, but I don't see any reason I can't do at least the same amount of discount....Let's just see what interest there is first of all, then I can firm up pricing on the 2600's, and on the 2100's if we get up around nine guys...
1. Sergio Barros - 2100 2. Tony Thoppil - 2100 3. Adam Edgcumbe - 2600 4. Chris McKee - 2600

Ok, as I suspected, there is lots of interest! I still want to finish distributing the wideband O2's from those group buys before I put too much work into this one, but I will go to my supplier sometime next week and see what kind of pricing I can firm up. In the meantime, please just add your name if interested, or remove your name if no longer interested.
Thanks

Ziggy, is this going to be happening in the next: week, month, 2 months? A ballpark ETA would be nice, if possible. PM me if you don't want to clutter this thread up, thank you. Nigel

Nigel, I haven't put much work into this yet, as I am still trying to finish off final payments and delivery of Zeitronix and AEM Uego wideband O2 group buys. I hope to get serious about investigating best pricing later this week. I would think another week or two after that for people to sign up, and then most of a week to gather deposits. At that "expected" rate, clutches would be available around the third week of march. I won't promise that, it could be later! Of coure, that will depend on how quick people sign up and send their deposits.
Brett, I am still trying to confirm that I can get the "kit" price with the special disk you want..

Ok, here is what I have been able to come up with so far! IF guys back out and we drop below 9 guys, ACT2100 kit pricing will be $395. As stated at the top of this thread. That is $35. each off my regular pricing! The 2600 kits, at that same level of 8 guys or less, I can do at $480. each. That is $45. OFF my everyday low pricing! (Do I sound like Walmart here?) LOL?OK, assuming we DON'T drop below 8 guys, I can do as follows: for 9-12 guys in: 2100 kit = $385 2600 kit = $470 for 12-15 guys in: 2100 kit = $380. 2600 kit = $462. if we get OVER 15 guys: 2100 kit = $370. 2600 kit = $450. All of this is also dependant on our dollar not going down the crapper in the next few weeks when this is done....maybe I should have posted USD pricing?? We also have one guy interested in a non-turbo clutch, if he ends up ordering it, I will add it here also...and Brett might be taking a clutch with that special disk my supplier is STILL looking into...so we MIGHT be up to 11 already!! One other thing I can maybe do to "sweeten the pot" a little is to offer a deal on the lsd tranny insert units. I think most of you guys know that I manufacture them. SBR retails them for $189.USD, which is about $221. or so Canadian. That was my retail price as well ($219.95), and for the same thing but in TOOL STEEL instead of MILD STEEL, I retail them for 279.95. I am proposing I will offer anyone who buys an ACT clutch in this group buy, can buy one of my lsd units for $180.CDN for the mild steel version, or $225.CDN for the tool steel version. This pricing will only be available for this group buy! Ok, so the Zeitronix and Uego stuff is MOSTLY gone, I can concentrate on this now And just a little sneak preview....I have another supplier in the works, who would have some terrific deals..but I would likely need to do another "buy in". Best way for me to do that would be a "group buy". I don't want to get too involved in it yet, but let me just say that if you are planning to upgrade your injectors, it might pay you to wait a bit

Ziggy, I'm confused with the pricing. I looked on your website and you sell the ACT 2100 for $340US (everyday price to everyone). The exchange rate has been quite steady at 1.15 ( www.xe.com) since January 2006. So, isn't $340US x 1.15 = $391CDN? Can you clarify the pricing? Maybe I'm not getting something right. You said that your everyday pricing was $429CDN, and that in order to save at least $40, we'd have to get as many as: for 9-12 guys in: 2100 kit = $385 2600 kit = $470 for 12-15 guys in: 2100 kit = $380. 2600 kit = $462. if we get OVER 15 guys: 2100 kit = $370. 2600 kit = $450. So what is your everyday price and how much are we actually saving with this group purchase? Maybe I'm missing something... Thanks in advance!

Jason I think a more accurate calculation would be SBR price of 340 x 1.15 x 1.15.. let's not forget duty and taxes, along with exchange. That would put the price to 450 CDN or so...

Jason, the website is intended for US customers. It says right on the front page of the store for Canadian customers to contact me by email for Canadian pricing. The REGULAR Canadian pricing for an ACT 2100 kit is $429.95 CDN AT MY DOOR, plus shpping to you if necessary, plus taxes. Feel free to order the same kit for $340. USD off the website if you wish, but be warned you will be charged approximately $20.USD or more for shipping if you order through the website, and your goods will arrive by UPS...with the usual bill for taxes and brokerage fees, probably another $100. plus CDN.
I know there are other shops whose regular price on these is $150. MORE than my regular price, and I have yet to see one cheaper. Even those that were smuggled into the country by a former member were more than this, just that he didn't charge any taxes.

Jason, when you import stuff from the USA, there is custom fee's such as Brokeage fee's, GST etc. I do the samething as Ziggy, I have US prices for US customers because my suppliers are already in the USA so they don't pay any fee's, however, once the items go over the boarder "BOOM" expensive fee's because of Canada customs. They don't want you to buy from the USA, thats why they try to disenourage you by brokeage/GST fee's. Another thing I wanted to mention is the "USA" shops charge you an arm and a leg for shipping when you are purcasing it off there website. For example, dsmparts.com to get a BOV over here, its $40 USD for shipping alone. I guess they try to disenourage Canadian customers to purchase for them, or they can charge you that because they just can. $340USD X 1.15 conversion : $391 CDN + GST = $418.37 + brokerage fee's around 10% = $460.21
so even at $395 + tax = $454.25 beats you buying from the USA. And if you have a problem, you can just go to Ziggy and he will fix it for you other then having the item shipped back or headaches over the phone trying to fix the problem.
You get where I am going here? Most shops out there ship my UPS reputable shops specially. They just murder you with fee's. So overall, Ziggy has a great deal going, probably beat any other Canadian vendor.

********************* Please everyone read this as I have decided to add a small "fee" to each purchase *********************
Just a quick update. It seems the interest in this is at a peak...no-one else seems to be responding...I will be asking guys to post this on the BC and Quebec boards, but then I would like to start wrapping things up.
I have also just read something about other boards having been taken over by commercial enterprises, and a few people expressing how lucky we are to have this forum which is NOT owned by a commercial enterprise. I am inclined to agree, and I am proposing that on all current and future group buys, I would like to add a small per item "fee" which would go directly towards the cost of running this board. This "fee" would be collected by me, but it would be paid to Andy Bienhaus. It would NOT show up on your receipts for your goods. It would in effect be a "voluntary donation" in exchange for the "privilege" of participating in the group buy. I am proposing that everyone who buys a clutch on this group buy pay an extra $5., and this money would be paid to Andy towards the running of this board...
I think a $5. contribution is pretty damn reasonable, considering you will be saving AT LEAST $35. plus the taxes on $35. on your clutch. There would be no tax on the $5. fee.
If anyone wants to drop out because of this fee, please remove your name. Otherwise, I will give this perhaps to the end of this week for people to add their names, then we should start collecting deposits....
Thanks again everyone... Ziggy

Ziggy that sounds like a good idea, I am going to do the same. Depending on the item price maybe 1% of the sale? So if the sale is $400 CDN $4.00 of that sale goes to the board. It is for the best of the forum.

Well, I would say that is all the interest. It looks like we have 10 guys in, so pricing is going to be:
ACT2100 kit = $385. +shipping (if necessary) + taxes + $5. "group buy fee for the board" ACT2600 kit = $470. +shipping (if necessary) + taxes + $5. "group buy fee for the board" Brett's special clutch = $465. + taxes + $5. "group buy fee for the board" Carm Balduini's clutch kit = $410. + shipping (if necessary) + taxes + $5. "group buy fee for the board".
I would say let's start gathering deposits and then we can get the order placed! If I had all the deposits by next Tuesday, we could have the clutches here for March 11th. Is that enough time, or does anyone need another week? Let me know what you guys think. Also, if you let me know if I will be shipping or if you will be picking up, I can give each of you a final cost.
Thanks again, Ziggy

I will get a price for you Scott, and I have made a note that Sergio Barros now wants the 2600 instead of the 2100. I have had one "anonymous" complaint about the $5. fee, but I am NOT changing it at this point in time. I COULD just charge everyone $5. more and just contribute the money to Andrew myself, but I don't think that is right...I think YOU GUYS should get the credit for that contribution, not me. It was suggested that this "fee" should come out of my profits....but these group buy savings are ALREADY coming out of my profits. I am not getting any special pricing from my distributor unless we get the 15 clutches minimum!!
Like I said, anyone who wishes to drop out because of it, just remove your name from the list. In all honesty, if someone REALLY doesn't want to contribute $5. to the board even though they are saving AT LEAST $35. PLUS the taxes on $35....In all honesty, I don't really want that person as a customer!
Otherwise, everyone who is still in, thanks again!
Please start making arrangements to send deposits so we can get this done, unless the majority of you would rather wait a while for better weather? Let me know....
thanks again!

Yuri: One other thing I can maybe do to "sweeten the pot" a little is to offer a deal on the lsd tranny insert units.
This pricing will only be available for this group buy From a few posts up.

I might be in for a 2100 & LSD, but I'd like to know the deadline for payment as it may be a few weeks before I can pay fully or at all .

Joel, when this happens will be up to the guys who have signed up. when I have MOST of the deposits, I will give the remaining guys a chance to either get their deposits in or drop out, and then I will place the order. After I have the clutches, I will ship as soon as I receive balance of payment in full. Having said that, I don't mind having a clutch sit here a couple weeks while you save the rest of the money, so as long as you can get your deposit together in the next week or two, whatever the guys here decide, I would say feel free to get in!
Also, pricing posted above is for TURBO clutches. I have let the NON turbo guys know their pricing, it is less. In case anyone else is thinking of getting in, NON TURBO clutches are priced:
2100 kit = $365.00 2600 kit = $410.00
Edited to add non-turbo clutch pricing
