Dan,
Have you read the story about the JATO rocket? hehehe
Seriously I don't think 240 would be possible maybe more like 220 at the most, but if you are going to be going that fast be careful ok. make sure your car is up for it.

I've managed 220 kph with a modded engine, but stock suspension. I had to slow down because the car was geting light, but now with the car droped almost 2 inches and all new suspension it should clear that by at least 20-30.

Dan, Check your valve cover for leaks, it's probably leaking there and burning on the exhaust manifold. ------------------ Chris "I'll fix it later" Bolt 93 TSi AWD

I got to 225km with my 1991 Laser RS 2.0L NT MT. I stoped because my tires are not the best for this kind of speed. Put it this way I think it was a little too much for these gumballs. I'll try it again once I get better rubber.
Got also to admit this is not the smartess thing to do. I always do it so I never have to pass another car. You never know what the other drivers might do and there is not much reaction time at those speed. I would not want to get cought this fast because the judge could send us in jail for a few weeks/months.

Geez Ghiz, You got Kahuna's the size of coconuts, those of you that have seen the tire's on Ghislain's car will agree that they are not fit for those speed's expecially in thier current condition. Good o'l Goodrich Touring Ta's with MASSIVE abuse. when Ghislain calls them "gumballs" it's pretty true, but then the chunks of trad that are missing will lighten them up so maybe he is on to a performance trick here.
Anyway's enough bashing Ghis tires, an NT will hit 200+ mathematics should kick the rev limiter in at about 237-239 whether or not aerodynamically it is possible I don't know I have hit about the 230-232 mark in "controlled test situations" in a "top secret testing ground" <g>

Ill ask my mech/bodyshop guy about checkin out my valve when I bring my car to get repainted next week... its not really a big deal, its leaking very little oil... Does anyone reccomended a chemical product i could just dump into my car and it would provide a temp fix ??? What is the Possible Damages if not fixed ??? I think that loudness of my exaust system was becuase of water that got into my muffler from when I washed my car last week, it went away today... As for my speed test, I probally wont get to a track till I fix 2 of my rims = bent(1 bad, 1 minor). When I changed my tires (they were the originals!!!) I found that out, I was pissed !! But by the time I get around to it ill have new plugs/wires, K&N, forced induction system and a cat if I can afford it... For some reason one of my Friends thinks my car is absolute garbage becuase its a 91 and I paid $4,000.. He drives a tuqoise 94 Sunfire that his parents bought for $16,000. ------------------ Dan Saddy Windsor Ontario Canada 91' Red Stock Talon ESi If you don't like my driving, stay of the sidewalk !!![This message has been edited by Dan Saddy (edited October 19, 2000).]

Yo Dan.
I'm not sure 100% were you oil leak is but I would not recommend an oil additive to stop that leak. Those product don't only plug small leak but they also plug small oil passage inside the engine. You might hurt the motor by using one of those product and they don't work as advertised...
Try to locate the leak source. Check the valve cover gasket. Sometine the valve cover bolts loosen or the gasket dries up with time. Just make sure you don't overtighten the valve cover bolts. They are small and only require a small torque ( Rule of thumb; Small bolts, small torque). If that fails try replacing the valve cover gasket, the kit cost about $45 at crappy, you'll need 1/2 hours to replace it. Again that is if the leak is comming from there.
Other things that might leaking are the cam shaft and Cam angle sensor seals and the good old head gasket.
Start by having a look at your valve cover. Keep us in touch with your findings.
Ghislain.

Hey guys I got up to 200 km/h in my 1.8L auto laser. Going down a steep hill of course. I feel really stupid for doing it though because there are side streets on this hill and some old man or old lady could of pulled out cutting me off and then, SCREEEEEEECH, SMASH. And I would of been in big sh!t for going 200 in a 60 zone if I would of lived through it. I had my liceanse for about two months and my friends were all daring me to see how fast my moms car could go(the car still belonged to my mom at this time) so I floored it and started accelerating down the hill. It was very stupid because the car had 185/75 R 14 tires that were a cheap brand and the car was bouncing all over the place. The moral of the story is don't show off to your friends in your moms car. But I did get up to 200km/h in a 92 1.8L automatic Laser.

What are freind for???
That was a bad move Dude. At least you have the common sense to realise that bad thing could of happend.
Best way to do this kind of driving is on a Track. Or, do it on a Freeway were you have no chance to come in contact with anybody. Don't even pass anybody. You never know what the other will do and you have very little reaction time at those speed.
At last do it by yourself that way you won't be taking someone's life but only yours if the worst happend.
I got to admit that I like to speed, although I'm not always speeding. Basicly I keep it for "Special Occasions" and I make sure I do it in a way that I could not hurt anybody if I frack up. If there is any trafic I don't do it. I'm also ready to pay the price if I get cought.
BTW; Is there a race track around Vancouver??? I'm trying to get transfer to Comox and I'd like to know were I could take the car for a "stroll"!!!

Yo Shpendi.
Your car has a "Neon" Engine. I don't know too much about them.
Anybody else here has been to "Warp Speed" with one of these???

You are right and my statement was not 100% correct.
The 2G NT Talon/Eclipse sports a variation of a Neon's engine.
