I have a 90' 2.0L N/T....I have already done the aircan mod, K&N, removed silencer, and Made a straight intake pipe out of some rubber plumbing crap and some 3" aluminum ducting....I just want to know what you guys think I should do next? (besides turbo lol)

Their is only so much we can do to these Cars.
First step should be to make it easyer for the Engine to Breath. Intake (You've done it)then Exhaust.
You could also Port and Polish the Intake Runners inside the Cylindre Head and Match the Intake Manifold to the CylinderHead Runners.
That is about it unless you get Higeh Compression Pistons. Better call would be to put on a Turbo or NOS. I'd go with the Spool but you'll have to keep the Boost to a reasoneable pressure. A few have done it with good results. Just have to remember that NT Pistons are not as Strong as a Turbo Pistons.
Some might say that you'd better to sell your Car and get yourself a Turbo Car. Don't be offended by this statment but it should also be considered.
I will probably put a Turbo on mine this summer. I have tought about getting myself a Turbo AWD. I would love to but I just decided to keep that Car for a while. Maybe in a few ears from now. For the moment I'll bet the crap out of my NT. Well for whatever I can get out of it.
Visit my site. You'll see what I did. http://www.lks.net/~ghislisa/

hmmm...Yeah I was thinking exhuast too I'm gonna need to save up to get one I like, I can't get a turbo yet (insurance for a 17yr old sucks)but when I do go turbo I'm sure I'll get a whole new car instead of trying to tackle instalation myself..I think things will have to be put on hold for a while my steering rack is leaking like theres no tomorrow, so thats gotta be first, I'm interested in the balance shaft removal, but it looks complicated and I don't think I have to knowledge to do that yet...anyways thanks guys and I'll let ya know how everything is going again!

I don't think putting on bigger injectors would help, and he would just be running rich all the time. If he was flowing a lot more air, then he's need bigger injectors. Say he does make some of these changes, and was flowing more air...i wouldn't go buy injectors until you had a chace to log the car, and see if they were even close to maxing out. I havn't seen any aftermarket cams for the 1G NT's, which is not to say they don't exist. Don't think about putting on cams from a tubro 1G, they don't lift as much anyway. I'd be careful about having your exhaust too free-flowing, you'll loose some of your back pressure, and have less bottom-end torque. Converting it to a manual transmission would help, as it's lighter, and you could do a better launch than with a automatic tranny. http://www.ecanfix.com/~mdhamilton/autotomanual.html http://www.ecanfix.com/~mdhamilton/ <-this site also has other things that can help out. If the airconditoning isn't working, you could cut the belt atleast, or go ahead and remove the whole thing, which would save some weight. Also http://nt.dsm.org may help, not much info there. Like Ghislain said, there is only so much you can do with a NT. I find they are pretty fast against other domestic non turbo 4bangers, but if you want to play with the big boys, you'll need a turbo. So maybe you're better off not putting too much cash into trying to mod the car, and save up for a 1G TSI instead. [ December 07, 2001: Message edited by: Paul Kolbuc ]

unfortunatly for me i spent almost 400 on my headers and was told that pace setter was the only brand that mad them for the N/T talon, had them for about a month and a half before they cracked, i dont know if its true or not about pace setter being the only one, but i got my money back the the cracked ones and left the stock exhaust mani on. the best mod for a N/T car that i can suggest is to hook up some ram air, it can be done so easily. in the N/T car there is a black box down where the IC would be on the TSI's, i cut a hole in that box 3" round, and installed a piece of heating duct that went from 5" to 3" to act as a funnel. if you take out the air can youll see where the air from the box is comming up through the can, i shot some of that insulating foam into the other tube of the aircan (the tube that goes behind the passanger side head light unit) so that all the air is being directed right into the filter. might need to adjust the BISS screw a bit there will be a bit less air at idle but the car runs great, expecially on the highway when your doing 200 the next project will be to remove that box and run heating duct straight into the aircan also try picking up a new PCV valve from crappy tire for like $3, i cant see how its possible but when i installed a new one i had a bit more throttle response off the line i gotta get me a NOS system or something tho cause im just dying to run with the TSIs, lol HF

2G NT talons uses the Neon engine.... 1Gs and Galants uses the NT 4G63
300hp Talon to a 50hp Citroen. Lovely ain't it? Back to another Mits. A Mirage Cyborg as a future 4G63T candidate.

Hey Shawn. Do you have some pic of your Intake System??? You can see some pics on my cheezy page. I used the same routing as you did. I also installed a Pace Setter on my Car. Did not pay $400 for them... Guess you got them Armour Coated for that price. Hot Shot, Buschur, Archer also make Hearerd for the NT. Prices ranges from $400us to about $700us depending which one you get. They are made out of SS I think. As for the Craking of the Pace Setters; Had mine for almost two years now. No crack but I had to repaing them a few times now. I'll probably have to replace the "DownPipe" in a year from now. Might get something different. Will depend what I want to do with the Car at the time. Hope this helps. Ghislain.

I found out that HKS makes adjustable cam gears for the NT engines, list price is around $ 190 bucks "US dollars".
Ooops one other thing... didn't someone(off this USB) find a type of paint that wouldn't peel as easy, for the pace setters?

I first used the High Temp Stuff you get at Crappy. Did not last that long (Two Months). I then used the High Temp Coating (Satin Black) Part Number; 10133Z from Eastwood with good results. http://www.eastwoodco.com/cgi-bin/s...=2001121011154639&UREQA=4&FNM=12 I've had that Stuff on my Headers since last Spring with little peeling (Put a little to much on...). Very easy to put on. The best would be to get the Headers Ceramic Coated but again it depend on your butget and need. Hope this helps. Ghislain.
