Hi Iam new to DSM and I have a NT Mitsubishi Eclipse GS.

And Iam just wonder what are some of the things that can be done to up the HP? My friend has a sweet 2000 mustang(stock) and I would like to at least give him a run for his money if that can even be done with a NT smile

Thx in advance smile

First you can do the basic mods like intake, exhaust, UDP and S-AFC but other than that its gonna take some serious $$$$$$ cash to keep up to a stang in an nt

I have a K&N ,wires, A/C disconnected ,full 2.25 stainless exhaust system, with high flow cat, NO muffler, and a few other mods to help lighten the car etc.
with this I can run with a V6 stang
but against a V8 you have no chance.

hey my 97 talon only has an intake, wires and a chopped shifter and I was pretty much neck and neck with a v6 stang. I always thought my car was quicker then a v6 stang so I was pretty pissed when I was only neck and neck with the guy. I'm also looking on making my car quicker but it seems like everything costs way too much $$$ for my budget frown

I have raced the same guy a few times in his white 94-95 V6 stang(auto), he lives just down the street. Once in a while he will beat me ,sometimes I will beat him.
My car is also an auto So if you were do get a full exhaust your standard tranny N/T should walk all over one.
My full 2.25 stainless system cost me about $450 at a local performance exhaust shop

I guess $450 sounds pretty reasonable for a "full exahust system" but how much of an exhaust exactly is that?...a full system includes a Catylitic converter aswell??
I'm probably gonna be grabbing a new exhaust in the next month since I'm starting my summer job in a few days:) but I'm looking to get something no more then 5 bills....I'm pretty lost on where to go and I can't instal all this stuff myself so I gotta pay labour for that crap aswell

This may be a dumb question but what is a UDP and S-AFC. Yes I'm REAL new to DSM. I've only had my '90 Laser for a little over a week now.

But i say the best mod would be to save your money and buy the 4g63T and swap it for 2000 its easy and thats for a jdm engine

exhaust = 600
intake = 250
UDP = 150
S-AFC = 300
Cam Gears = 300
Header = 400
BTB = 200
---------
Total = 2100 hp gain = 20

engine =1500
parts and computer = 500
-------------
total=2000 hp gain = 90

see where im going

BTW with the swap you dont need a new wireing harness or tranny just need a aftermarket clutch

My full exhaust is from the in front of the flex pipe back. ( just where the down tubes come together)
It includes 2.25" stainless pipe,all mandrel bent,all stainless welds, flex pipe, high flow cat, 1 glass pac 3"X 20" resonator,3" chrome tip.
I did not go with a muffler because there is no need with a resonator. I got the sound I want (very deep ,and pretty loud)
10 year full garranty. installed.

Is the 4g63T a turbo? Iam geuss because of the T in 4g63T smile

Also will having FWD(Since Iam in a Eclipse GS) be a problem when getting the 4g63T since turbo G1 DSM's were AWD?

And from what you have told me it sounds like a better deal to get the turbo engine then try and soop up my NT smile
