I never said you can go up to 12psi. DO SO AT YOUR OWN RISKWith that said I'm running 9 psi and won't go any higher. Remeber that i used the NT motor. I didn't swap the NT with a Turbo motor. I'm using my stock NT tranny BUT take it easy when launching, the NT cluch can't take that much abuse. Trust me The benefit with a turbo tranny is that you can use the turbo clutch but you will need to use the turbo flywheel.

The trickest part of the whole thing is wiring up the resistor pack. The rest of it is pretty much bolt on.

Skip the metal head gasket. If your not running 30psi or running Nitrous, then you dont need it.
Second, Use Ross pistons. They are available over the counter with 21mm wrist pin. Je's are a bit harder to find...besides Ross are better pistons.
Third, toss the NT block but keep the crank(spare). Turbo blocks are readily available and they have oil squirters and knock sensor mount already in place.

I used the stock turbo inlet tube and vented into (just like stock)and blow off valve bolts to the intercooler 90 bend on one side and the other side of the blow off valve i made up a custom 2" intake to the NT throttle body.

ECU - yes oil pan - as long as both engines same (6 bolt or 7 bolt) downpipe- No. Well you will have to cut the flange off(the one the bolts up to the cat) and turn 30' and reweld it back on.

Jeff, if you can save few bucks just get the downpipe. But if its a package deal then I'll have to say BUY it. Also a oil pan from a 7 bolt WILL NOT fit a a 6 bolt engine.

Sorry to dig up an old thread guys. Tony you mentioned that the benefit of using a turbo tranny is that you can swap in a turbo clutch too, only you have to use the turbo flywheel. I'm gathering parts for a turbo conversion, but am planning to keep my nt tranny and swapping out my nt 7-bolt block for a turbo 6-bolt block. So, just so I can verify, with this setup if I want to keep the nt clutch, should I swap in a 6-bolt nt flywheel, or can i leave my 7-bolt nt flywheel?
Thanks, Matt

Matt if you use ANY 6 bolt engine you must use a 6 bolt flywheel. Because the of the bolt patterm on the flywheel. 6 bolt engines have 6 bolts on the flywheel, and 7 bolt engines have 7 bolts. I see you are a newbie thats why i put that last sentence in.

Damn that did sound dumb, huh? Before I got confused and asked the wrong question, I was wondering if I should swap in a 6-bolt NT flywheel or a 6-bolt T flywheel? Is there a difference, I always thought that as long as the bolt patterns match up you're fine. Thanks for humouring me. Matt
