For the second time since 2002, I've made a rebuilt on my NT's engine. :rolleyes: But this time, to have some changes, I have installed Galant 9.8:1 pistons and 4G63T camshaft. The engine is now in the car and it will run soon! The engine before it will be installed in car: At left: 9.8:1 piston At right: 9.0:1 one

Nice and clean. Good job. I wonder though being the 2nd time, why not pick up a 4G63T engine and rebuild that and give yourself the upgrade?

Its definetly is something new, I wonder what kind of horsepower numbers your going to plant on the floor. If the stock motor is 135HP (Crank) you should probably do around 150-160 with that.

Just to give you an idea, the Galnt 2,4L DOHC NT built in 1994 had 160HP, with 10:1 CR.

You didn't mention that you had removed your balance shafts. You would pick up a good few horses with them out Here was mine, It made about est. 150hp@crank without the balance shafts, lightened flywheel, header and exhaust, plus minor tuning with a timing bump and SAFC. 16.1s/85mph 1/4mile on the heavier (2750lbs) Galant. If done similarly, with the higher 9.8:1, you can look at about 160@crank.
300hp Talon to a 50hp Citroen. Lovely ain't it? Back to another Mits. A Mirage Cyborg as a future 4G63T candidate.

If done similarly, with the higher 9.8:1, you can look at about 160@crank. I did not remove balancer shaft. Your engine look very well. And it's supposed to have 9.8:1 pistons. They was stock in Galant. I'm happy to see I'm not the only one who makes some modification on his NT.

I do not regret going to a Turbo AWD but I still apreciate to see someone do some work on an NT.
You can also give a little more timing advence. I went as far as 12 ** base timing with some 94 oct.
I would like one day to see someone to go with 12:1 Slugs and a litle more agresive Cams.
I think that 175hp could be obtainable, maybe more.

Ghislain. I'm finishing up a 4g64 10.5:1 with 274 Cams with a Cyclone intake, no b-shafts and an AEM EMS :)Plan on a boat load of timing hoping for about 190hp...

I want to see some good N/T times guys! Keep up the good work. So many people take the turbo route because its cheap and power is easy to come by. I am glad to see some people taking the N/T route and squeeze as much power as possible out of them. If its possible to change the gear ratio by changing the front differential with something with a closer final drive ratio, it can really help your times in the 1/4.
