Out???????? Daren, ask Eric, Jason Harris, or myself what it feels like to get beat by FWD Hondas in the Power Adder at CSCS. haha. You could definately run the T&T if you get eliminated. Sept. 8th is not just all about the racing. It's about getting as many DSMs out as possible and show everyone that we can put together a North of the Border Shootout type event as well.

Must not be talking about fwd's with street tires wink Or I guess you could be since Hondas never produce enough torque to break street tires lose laugh

If I was more local, I'd be there for sure regardless but to spend a few hours driving & $80 or so for gas & admission, it's not worth it unless I'm getting in more then a couple runs. Sounds like with the T&T there will be more then enough time to get in a good amount of runs..... but looks like I'll still probably have to pass. Thats the weekend of the Virgin music festival & more then likely going to that. Hope there's a good turnout for the event though tu

Also, as far as the helmet thing goes, make sure your helmet is SNELL 2000 or newer.

Just curious what is SNELL 2000, is it some sort of DOT rating? I just bought a helmet & want to make sure it meets all track regulations.

I think 2000 is the year of SNELL standards the helmet model was tested by and passed. They update the standards every five years.
It should say DOT SNELL #### on your helmet somewhere (probably the back).
Wasn't SNELL 95 good enough last year?

Ah, gotcha. Will have to check that out. Looks like according to the Cayuga site, they require SNELL 90 or newer.....

It's now snell 2005. it has to do with the date? it's only good for so long. Sparta has helmets that they rent if you don't have one/ need one. They are fairly relaxed in tech though. So you may? be able to get by without one.

Snell 2000 is still good for a few years yet. That's what mine is. They've got the full rules in the NHRA rule book. Helmets or not, lets just get these DSMs out racing.

I'm 90% sure that I'm coming down. I'll have to trailer the car since it's so far. I hope there's a good showing of DSM's.

The feed back so far from the different places we have advertized this has been very positive. It could be (we hope) one of the best DSM gatherings, "North of the border" in a long time.
We are looking forward to this, especially since the "Shootout" in Ohio was rained out.
The gates will open at 10:00 am. try to get there early to give us time to tech the cars.

I heard thru the grape vine he has a nice new MID-size turbo now. The PPG/Peckerhead feud should be a little more interesting this year.

I never thoughtI would see the day that a GT-30 would be considered an average sized turbo, and a 20G is small....
The other day I had the turbo out and it was sitting on the workbench beside a 14B, sat the for a few minutes giggling.
The 14b almost fits inside the 4in inlet.

Yeah, it was pretty lame when everyone only had 300 HP and our cars actually ran! laugh

If you read through the embarassingly out of date Lunch Log page, you'll see the report from a meet in Oct '98 where AC showed up with a real bombshell, a 20G and a FMIC! I remember that being a really big deal at the time! smile

It's funny what 10 years will do to the aftermarket world. 20+psi on monster turbos is a regular thing from most of us now.

From what the website says the winners in the 2 classes also qualify for Club Warz on sunday.

The second annual Club Warz will be held Sunday, September 9 at St. Thomas Dragway. The event is an appreciation day for all the clubs that hold events each year at the track. The top winner from each club event receives a free pass to enter while the other club members pay the normal $30. Crew and spectators pay $10. Four classes will be contested with one point per round win going to the respective club. The four classes are Domestic Quick 8 (heads-up), Domestic Bracket, Sports Compact Quick 8 (heads-up) and Sports Compact Bracket. First round losers in the Quick 8 classes will automatically be entered into the second round of their respective bracket. Trophies will be awarded for winner and runner-up in all four classes as well as a giant trophy and $200 to the winning club.

I do plan on winning the forcepower event so if... excuse me... when I win, I'll have to pass on the next day. I will step aside for the next day to the loser... I mean runner-up.

If you race the next day and win its a trophy and $200 to the club.

I would be there on sunday except I have to work.

Anyone else from the GTA heading out? We should start a caravan thread.

Tim I love the enthusiasm but I really like the way the winner trophies look. You've got to go through me to get it. Go get it. Kevin......I've heard too much about your car, lets see it.

what are the fastest cars that will be attending this event? I was hoping to see a few 10sec dsm there. My dsm has been a garage queen for a year now.

I doubt 10s, unless some of these guys with 35Rs actually place the horsepower to the ground. I figure low 11s should do it, if not mid 11s.
