Ok guys, I have had a FEW people approach me about roll cages for 1g. This is something I don't normally have access to. There are a couple outfits selling these for about $200USD (I think it is DSM Parts and Turbo Wholesale). I am told both companies are the same ownership, so it is the same part. I USED to have an account with TuroWholesale, and they are DICKS. They are the ONLY outfit to ever give me WORSE service than SBR! I HATE dealing with these people, but 2 of my good customers are wanting this, so I am considering doing a ONE TIME order with them, something like what I am doing with Punishment Racing. I would be paying full retail for these, same as anyone else would ordering them directly. Only savings would be:
a) shipping these is a fortune. It would be cheaper per unit to get several shipped at once b) shipping to my US address will still be a lot cheaper than shipping cross border to Canada.
They will end up costing about $375. or $380. all in, picked up at my door in Niagara Falls.
This is how it would have to work:
a) I will want payment in full before I order. These people are DICKS. They will tell you they have stock, charge my credit card, and then might take 6 months to ship....
b) This will be a ONE TIME deal.
c) I have no way to even pick up these things at my US address. I will need to BORROW a pickup truck (one of the guys who wants one has a truck:) ). I have NO place to store them, and NO way to ship them. You will need to pick it up here, (unless you make arrangements with the board member with the truck to deliver to you), and it will just sit in my driveway until you get here.
If anyone is still interested, put your name below. Also, don't delay. The two guys who want one, want one SOON....so this will either happen quickly or not at all...
thanks, Ziggy

alternate sources ziggy, http://www.dougherbert.com/8pointrollbars-p-15699.html?cPath=402_44640 bucks cheaper! That'll probably cover the shipping. the manufacturer? http://www.competitionengineering.com/catalog/CategoryDisplay.asp?CatCode=10361Now, I never buy anything without researching it. I have a serious problem with this cages though. It is ERW tubing, i.e. flat bar rolled into a circle and welded to make a tube. This is the cheapest you can use for a roll cage. It is all weight of a cage and half the protection. Next up is DOM tubing which is extruded as a tube and offers excellent strength and protection at the same weight. The best being chrom-moly, it offers the same strength your just able to use thinnier walled tubing or smaller diameter tubing so the overall weight is less while maintaining the same strength. Ask youselves this question, are you getting a cage to pass tech or save your life?I know my answer to this question... Sorry ziggy, don't mean to ruin a sale.

Mike, appreciate the info. I will not make anything on this sale, just trying to keep my customers happy. If there is a better alternative, hopefully they will go for that.
As for $40 covering shipping, shipping from Turbo Wholesale to my US address was like over $120. I would hate to ask what shipping to Canada is! I just had a friend ask to use my US address...he bought something on Ebay for 99cents, shippping within the US was $13., shipping to Canada was $125., LOL

After researching some of that info that Mike provided, turns out I can get these somewhere OTHER than Turbo WHolesale. They charge a few dollars more, but the shipping is cheaper (though still expensive). I could do these with taxes in at $360. at my door. If we got more of them, I could probably do a LITTLE better, by combining shipping....

Well, if the shipping is more reasonable, that might still be the better deal....will look forward to that info...

Well, so far there seems to be no real interest. The link Mike posted looks interesting, but again, I have no account there, I would pay full retail. I only want to do this as a one time thing. Not even the 2 guys I KNOW want one have posted....so I think I will just make arrangements with them, get their two, and that's it...
