Yea I work at SMF in customer service; it was multicolor when i was doing the 97 eclipse conversion (since its a 95 talon) because all the parts i was finding were different colors lol. THe paintjob i got a good deal on, only cost me 1300 for the two tone and with gold sparkles in the red. Under the hood, i got a 20G Hahn Racecraft Turbo, FMIC, Greddy Type RS BOV, Intake, Evo 3 Exhaust Manifold, Aeromotive FPR, 3" JDM exhaust pipes, 255 Walbro Fuel Pump, I dont know, i might be missing some stuff. I got AEM Digital Boost gauge and AEM Wideband. It's coming along, still got lots to do to it. I need to upgrade my injectors, get DSM link, etc... What kinda car do you got Mike? Taclipse too ? lol

This might sound like blasphemy, Dan... But when I considered that, it wasn't worth it. The newest 2G will be 10 years old, and newer cars have technology that make the DSMs near-obsolete. It'd be more worth it to go for a used EVO from the US, now that they can be brought in.
And as good as the 2Gs look on the outside, I could never get over the 'girl-designed' interior. It's nice, but the 1G interior fits like it was custom-designed for me. Every 2G I've sat in and driven I've always felt like an 'operator' as opposed to a part of the car...

I have to agree with Troy on the 1g cockpit. It's one of the most comfortable places...and I like the pop-ups.
The problem with newer cars and their technology is that all the new stuff weighs too much. I prefer a simpler car, but I'm sure I would make use of adjustable diffs. Just skip all that performance robbing, fuel sucking nav-dvd-home theatre in your car.
I'd wait until the new Lancer Ralliart is released. It should be a lighter version of the EVO X.

Yeah, for the 2G they took all of the Japanese "function over form" out of the cockpit, that right there is enough to keep me in a 1G Also - the 1G has a better looking exterior, "easier" under-hood configuration, a turbo that doesn't give up before the redline, a more "tuner-friendly" ECU... And no crankwalk. Oh and any of your 2G parts that are better - we take those and we put them on easy. That is all.

Taclipse too ? lol Been busy and yes its a 95 talon with eclipse parts. I'm rolling around with different coloured parts aswell. My car is midnight purple and the parts are all black. It's gonna take a while, but a paint job is on my list of things to do. Nice list of mods all you need after the injectors and link are some arp head studs and a clutch and you'll make some big power.

Ive been doing it one step at a time since December, its a long slow process! But when its done, it will definitely be rewarding. What do you have left to do on yours?
