The Good: - New motor installed when imported to Canada, timing belt, water pump, etc done. - E-tested - 142,000 on the body - No rust - 5spd, no grinds, shifts smooth - T-tops - 3" turbo back exhaust - Does not burn oil, runs great, pulls hard - New tires in the front and back - LSD - Mint interior The Bad: - Some scrapes on the roof, and rear driver side quarter. Quoted $1000 to fix everything that is wrong with the paint. Damage caused when it was shipped here from Japan. - Needs an e-brake for safety. Snapped in the tube and needs to be replaced - Rear rim was damaged, quoted $300 - $400 to fix it. Have 2 steelies on the back. - AVCR was removed. Has a manual boost controller set at 14psi right now. Reason for selling: Would like to buy an AWD Eagle Talon, or Mitsubishi Eclipse. I've always had a DSM, and buying a Toyota was an adventure, but would like to get back to what I'm used to. This car is an absolute blast to drive. It pulls hard, handles great, and gets you a lot of attention. It turns everyones head forsure. Price is $6000 firm, if you have an AWD DSM that you would like to trade me for it, send me pictures and specs on the car and maybe we can work something out. Also, if you are willing to pay $6300, I will sell my winter beater with this car. Which is a 1999 Volkswagen Golf 4dr, 5spd, 245,000 on it. The VW still would need safety / e-test, but it runs great, decent tread on the tire. So for $6300 you would have your summer car and a winter beater. Thanks.

Cut off on the 401 while merging, spun around in a 360 and smashed my rear bumper on the wall.

Damn, That sucks bro, might as well ride it off and get money through insurance, no point of fixing it and getting nothing and then trying to sell it

Might be repairable.
I'm going to check out the frame and see what's up. As long as the frame is straight it should be ok. But the impact on the rear was so hard that I'm not too sure on the damage.
I don't even want to think about parting it out, haha. If anything, I will sell the car for $3000 or something around there and let someone else part it out, or fix it.
But once i get the rear bumper off and then I will take a look at the frame and see if it looks straight, then go from there.

From what I can see I need:
New tail lights, new bumper, new bumper support, new exhaust, new exhaust hangers, new trunk latch, new rear diffuser (or whatever that little grill looking thing is that hangs down), then a paint job (was planning on painting the car this winter if no one bought it anyways), then it should be ok. Again, as long as the frame is ok. Hit the wall at about 60 - 80km/h

I don't have full coverage on my car, and the guy that cut me off kept on going. I doubt I can write it off... Your insurance will double upon making a claim, your better off to take the $6000 loss rather then $12000 over the next 6 years like me That's what I figured as well. frack.

Feel like sh!t man, I've never been in any sort of accident. I'm upset because the car was worth a decent amount and was a nice looking car and now I can't even enjoy it.
Also, I probably wont be going on the 401 again for a while.

Sucks.
I'm guessing you don't have collision coverage.
On paper, you'll be a 100% at fault for the accident. That may up your rates a bit. Sounds like the douche bag spooked you and you swerved.
If you go through insurance, your car will be written off. It does look "repairable" though.
If it was me, whether I claimed or not would depend on: previous record, amount car is insured for, how badly hurt you may be, Insurance company you are with.
If you have any questions, let me know

Well what happened is the guy came into my lane without checking his blind spot to see if I was merging. So he came all the way in and I had to put on the brakes hard and turn the wheel to avoid basically having his rear tire run over my hood.
As of right now, nothing has been filed through insurance, no paper work with the police, the car is completely driveable, frame is fine, car drives just like it did before. Idle is a little weird but that's because of the exhaust pipe being basically bent shut.
I babied it home and the car sits now perfectly fine. Nothing different than before except for the rear end.
This car is still for sale. I am selling it for $3500. The car is still e-tested until July. So if anyone wants to pick it up and fix it, it will cost probably $2000 - $2500 including paint for the entire car. I am just wanting a DSM really bad so this is why I'm trying to sell it.
I do not have collision coverage on my insurance, so I doubt I can even go through insurance anyways. They wouldn't even write off the car because why would they want to pay out a car that I wasn't even paying to cover me if something got messed up by me.
Thanks though Raf, I appreciate the help. I'm sure I will send you a message as I think of questions to ask.
Also, the tail lights, are still fine, the left one is just missing the top screw thing, it snapped, but besides that everything is fine. I just removed them so I could remove the bumper and check the frame / other parts.
Again, car is for sale for $3500. Still drives fine, can drive it wherever you need to go.

Because there was no contact, your collision coverage is 0%

ya man, I talked to Grant about everything today. I guess I will be paying out of pocket if I Can't sell it as it sits.
Raf, do you know of anywhere I can get pretty much everything to do with the rear bumper?
I know the clips for an MR2 is the entire back side, but I don't need the engine.
Just need rear bumper, and exhaust hangers, as well as rear bumper support and well, everything from the trunk back would be nice.

such a steal for someone with the proper sources, since insurance has no idea about this, it's just best to rebuild it, no salvage or record..
hopefully someone picks this up, it is a fair deal.

I've got a ton of interest. I just have no interest in fixing this car. Since I bought the car, I've wanted to get back into DSMs. Hence why I'm trying to move it so fast. I found a really really clean DSM for a really good price.

could just trade me straight up! seeing as that was my starting price If you are up to the project of fixing this, send me a pm You can buy a rear clip from an MR2 for $250 and it would have everything you would need to fix this car.
