I know Mike for the past 15 years; his car is my favorite DSM of all times; (Red 1Ga).
I always make a point to drop by and talk to him everytime I see him at the Ohio SO. Guy is amazing, glad he did it.
At last; vid did not work for me so anyone feel free to "repost".

Stock Block FTW! Like I never said that before, lol. Todd M is not that far behind him There's nothing like pounding on a stock block running 10's all day with nothing to worry about. Waaay better than an INCONSISTENT all out race car running mid 10's once in a blue moon on a 40r sized turbo, lol.

More importantly its all in the tune. Sure you could blow a stock block up much easily than a built block, but if you know how to tune, I think sky is the limit

Bah, big money doesn't mean big power. Just because you can slap on a 40R sized turbo onto a midly built motor doesn't mean you can run low 10s all day long. I just can't wait to get E85 in this area.

Wouldn't you say its a bit reckless to be boosting that hard on stock though? Not reckless at all IMO, stock blocks are low compression Tuning is the key, and it will do it over and over again.

Just guessing here, but there's absolutely no way he could be on the stock transmission, he would be shredding input shafts at will, and absolutely destroying the stock centre diff! I would also expect he has a Cusco or Quaife (sp?) front differential, and upgraded front and rear DSS axles to deal with that kind of abuse! Just a guess though

what about it ? I would say the record for a stock 2g/1g AWD tranny, t case and rear diff that takes 10 cranks to start goes to you You are definately the fastest in that category, lol. I'm pretty sure he's on a Shep stage 4 trans, though if you think a completely stock trans can't go deep into the 10's think again There's quite a handful of powerful cars on stock trannies. All my ten second passes were on a completely stock JDM early style 90's, open front diff, weak gvr4 1st and stock center diff tranny.

^^^ This is why I said "just a guess" ha-ha...I would have thought the weakest link would be the stock open centre diff, but if you're able to run a 10 second pass on it, I guess it all depends on launching style, and if you put most of the abuse on the clutch or the drivetrain...

Right on Jim! Stock 7 bolt FTW! Just to point out, Daniel Daraiche has gone 9.2 in his Colt, stock 6 bolt bottom end, 2700lbs. Testament to good Mitsubishi Engineering, and proof you don't need no "stage 3" to reliably do those times. He's from DSM Quebec (coltdie).
