I will add my 2 cents on filler now as I've got some more experience with it.
Stay the frack away from Bondo!! It's garbage!

Buy yourself a good quality filler, something from Evercoat's line of products (I really like Evercoat stuff).

A good quality filler like Evercoat sands so much nicer and goes on so much better then any Bondo stuff I've used. Also there's really not much of a price difference.

Always use a little bit of filler at a time. Better too little then too much.

Use the fiberglass filler instead of crappy bondo. For the amount of work you guys put in, it would be a shame to bondo it.

Or just practice your welding and throw nice beeds on it all day? And grind them flush, If your getting air pockets in your welds it's Porosity*if your using a gas then maybe a gas pocket* Try to weld with No wind. Tarp up a little tent.

That's pretty much as far as I got today with the motor. I've got a really cool timelapse video I made, but will upload it when the motor, tranny, install is complete.

He could probably pull some eco-friendly BS.

Ryan, how do you plan on priming your motor? I see the timing belt and cover is already on, so I take it you won't be spinning the oil pump by drill....

Gonna use a drill pump in through the filter housing. I don't have my turbo yet, otherwise I would have primed it on the stand.

And what's this "WHEN" I get pulled over stuff? LOL. Belleville cops are friendly, and I don't drive like an idiot, not saying anyone does... I've been driving for over 10 years and I've never been pulled over.

C'ept this one time when they checked my 10 day permit to make sure it was legal.

What kind of drill pump do you have? the one i tried didnt work well, the oil was too thick for it. i found just a 2 dollar soap pump worked better, put a couple litres through till it came up the head. but it was in the car and was able to crank it right after..

I don't have one currently, was going to pick one up at Princess Auto before I fired it up.

Soap pump is a good idea. As I assembled the motor, everything was coated in 20W50 so it is pre-lubricated before fireup and the oil is nice and thick, so it stays on things a little longer. I lubed up my cams, rockers and bled my lifters with the 20W50, not to mention everything has assembly lube on the bearings.

That's the one I got, from princess, don't waste your money it doesn't pump the oil like we would want. Dollar store soap dispenser is the way to go! Not the fancy lookin ones, but the bigger ones. Mine had soap in it already but it was the best one, just cleaned it out. Lol

I tried the hand pump from princess too, doesnt like the oil either. Both garbage.

I've used the soap pump method a couple of times. I suppose it's a little more work, but it's so simple, it can't fail. I could see if you were a shop priming a dozen engines a day, but otherwise, the simpler the better.

I bought mine from Home Hardware for $12 and works great on everything from shockproof to 10W30l. Been using it for a few years now and no issues. It's what I used on my first startup as well as initial startup each spring.
You're welcome to borrow it if you want Ryan.
