Depends on your goals..
FP4Rs or crower stage 3s would be good with that gt35

Or some crower stage 4s with a gt42r pull to 9000k smile

Kevin k may still have his fp4rs and Jaden has hks 280s in his thread im sure youd enjoy those

Well, first off, I'd start by actually forming your thoughts into properly punctuated sentences.

Second, what is your intended use for the car? Are you drag racing? Lapping? AutoX? Show car?

That list you have there, is that' what's currently on the car or is this a "wish list"?

If you want to go bigger than 500WHP (Which in reality is like 600 crank) then you are going to need to do some research.

Usually I don't reply to posts like this because it looks like you've done absolutely no research and want to mate a turbo to an engine with no care at all about how well it will work on the streets. Ever drive a fully built race car on the streets?

If you are a dyno king, then you think about HP goals. If you are a driver, you want to know where to spend your money to gain the best results.

hate to say it james but ryan's right. that list in particular will run you (off the top of my head) ten to fifteen grand, and if your goal is only 400hp or even 500hp, you don't need to spend that kind of dough.

did you copy and paste someone else's mod list? tongue

lol Hes not worried about money! he just likes his toys.

james if your going to use the AEM ems.. why not stick with aem gauges? and from what i have experienced with people who can afford any turbo they like. the gt35r is just a touch big for a street car and stick with the gt30r.

but my experience.. rubans hx40 is still the funnest car ive road in!

I wouldn't say I'm right or wrong on most of what I said, but I am right about this:

Jay, I sent you a PM about this so I didn't have to do it publicly;
Now I'm doing it publicly.

Please clean up the grammar and punctuation.

Oh Mike, that goes for you too. wink

As an example, a way you could go about asking a question like this is:

Hi, I'm in the process of building my engine. I would like to know from anyone's experience what turbo and cams would best suit my goals. Here is a quick rundown of the relevant information:

2G AWD 5 speed
Manley/Manley 9.0:1 6 Bolt
Built head, Crower internals

Goals are consistent 10.5 1/4's with 140MPH trap speeds. Car does see regular street use.

Thank you

When you are looking for information on a turbo, nobody gives a crap what kind of suspension you have. What does suspension have anything to do with the turbo?

Also, your transmission has nothing to do with the turbo or cams unless it's between Auto/Manual.

Again, do your research, don't throw up a big ass "Dis iz whud ah gotz er gunna git" list and expect everyone to have the perfect answer. If you actually researched, you'd see that I have the same block/head setup, and run Kelford 272's with an FP Green HTA on an Auto.

And it hauls ass.

now now, let's not all be the grinch who stole Christmas.

If James is truely after his goal, who are we to say anything?

Understandbly he may have a lot of research to do, but we all started somewhere...all of us!!

If I were you James, narrowing your goal down is step number one. Then from there, you can ask the board for recommendations on which parts to use and how to install them etc...

I'm using a FP3052 (aka. gt30r) with HKS 272's and I plan to hit the 450 mark using meth. It's a streetable amount of horse power. And if I decide to cut loose on track days, I know I'll have a LOT of fun!! tu

Very honest statement Jay but don't need to be sorry to Ryan. Many very skilled people in this world lack grammar/punctuations. It's the way our brain works; some of us are outstanding with things we love doing but fail elsewhere no matter how simple they are. I am not saying stop using the spell checker or ingore rule #5.

What I find funny, is Ryan is basically the ONLY moderator who locks up threads for "jiberish" crap, yet, when its him doing the nonsense in another's thread, all is well? This not being this first thread.

If you DSM "gods" don't like coming on and talking about your hobby cuz people... wait sorry... "because" people aren't as gifted as you, then don't come on, OR don't look at threads that don't interest you. Its not our fault you wasted your time reading something you weren't interested in, wait for one that you can put your brilliant input. There's always people ripping on newbies or less educated guys, think that's really going to help the dsm community grow? wink Lots of the "GOOD GUYS" we look up to, or looked up to, basically push us away.

I personally (and clearly many other board members) enjoy coming on the board and talking any BS i can about dsms, other cars, and anything that pops up in Bovis Fimus, because my girlfriend sure don't wanna hear it!

God was once a man, he had to grow and learn, and was once, A NEWBIE smile

I think someone missed the point.

The point we seasoned members on here are trying to get across is how the hell could you expect to get help when you don't take the time or effort to put a little grammar and punctuation in your posts. It's like verbal diarrhea trying to read it, and it makes my head hurt.

I mean seriously... what kind of effort should we give you to help you when you don't offer the effort to form... a... proper... sentence.

There's lots of knowledge here, and lots of people who are willing to help, but if you don't help yourself, we aren't going to spoon feed you.

And no Kyle, I'm not the only Mod... there are others that do it just as much, we have a whole 2 areas of the board you can't see, and you don't know what goes on behind closed doors. So, unless you have something useful to contribute, move on.

What I find funny is when someone like me comes on and asks you to please, (politely asks mind you) to take some time and effort to properly ask a question, after you've done some research, everyone takes it as "Oh, he's coming down hard on him..." I even gave an example of a way to word it.

I don't care of what you are capable of. You could have rebuilt your first motor in the womb, I could give a sh!t, but take some fracking time to put your thoughts into a god damned sentence the rest of the world can fracking read it. We ask for effort, not perfection.

I would welcome the OP to come and respond, otherwise, we are so way off topic it's not even worth it anymore.

Last but not least:

I would also add that we are very well behaved compared to the group that was here in the past. I have gone back and read some threads, didn't take much to set some people off.

Ok, so James...? What's going on? What kind of driving do you want to do and how much horse power do you want to make?

This thread is dead if we can't move forward. Just saying.

that is a list of current mods. sitting at evolution autosport in maple ridge bc

not paying anywhere near 15k with tuning and the engine build. I plan on mainly street driving and the occasional trip to the track or drag strip.

I have driven fully built street cars on the street my gtr was 608 whp.
Im just looking to have some fun pretty much.

little kids ? thanks alot for flaming me on my post if you have nothing nice to say kindly leave.

Im 28, have built a few racecars in the past and got into dsm's through my brother darren akey another member of this board.

Im far from a kid, I have about 3 days off from work every 2 months working as a production consultant in the canadian oil field. ( as anyone with oil and gas knowledge will tell you its pretty hard to be in my position at my age)

cost isnt a factor as i gross over 1600 a day.

I just want something fun to rip around in during the summer on days off. and the occasional track trip.

thats the story in a nutshell the nitpicking about proper grammar and the stabs of calling me a kid are pretty weak guys. Im here for help on one of the best online resources for dsm. * insert verbal fart noise here *

Maybe you should all keep in mind that not everyone has been in the dsm scene for 10 plus years like alot of you you gotta start learning somewhere.

1600 a day? TELL ME that is a typo....

Hook me up with one of those jobs, I'd pay Ron to build me a nasa approved 2G and have god piss for fuel.

Well if you're looking for a good AutoX turbo, I'd suggest an FP68HTA, and you'd only have to work half a day to afford it.

I'd also suggest an HKS 272 cam. Those would cost you the other half of the day.

Sounds like you've got the rest of the build already done by the shop. Those two final mods will probably finish it up!

I just love guys who come on here and flaunt how much they make. $1600 a day.... and... your... building.... a.... Talon.

Anyway, based on my own experience I've gained through searching, reading, and learning on my own, I'd suggest the above for a combo. The FP68HTA has run 10s many times. It's a great street turbo due to its small frame and quick spool.

The HKS 272 are no longer in production but they are still out there. Arguably the best cam for our cars on a street/strip application.

Do you have any pics of your setup?

No pictures as of yet ryan. thanks for the tid bits youre a dolly wink hahaha.

I have pictures of the vehicle its a purple 2g with grey interior. Its an ex autocross car that the owner of evolution planned on building himself but never found the time. Im sure some of you remember the 2g that andre sold on here that was done by the same shop.

I dont like to flaunt anything just saying i have worked very hard and sacrificed alot to be where i am today. poor grammar and all tongue
