The other thing about tires is that the smaller the rim size you can get away with the lower priced tires will be. 18" track worthy tires are incredibly expensive compared to a 17". !7" is pretty much the norm these days and most DSMs should be on 17" at the largest for the track if not 16" if they haven't upgraded there brakes yet.
