I have seen that flat blue and I think it looks good. Leaning towards doing that with my car. Check out the DYC forums they have a dip of the month, gives you a good idea off all the colours.

Will do!
I'm going black, I was contemplating Gun Metal, but I'm just going to go nice simply black. I am also somewhat tempted that if there was enough local people to me that wanted to go in, I would get a 50gal drum, I would imagine it would be quite a bit better pricing.

Kirk, I am sure it's possible but I won't believe it till I have seen it.
Greg that looks really good, can you post any other picture up? Where did you get the kit from?

Ive seen David Blands car, He did his flat black. Altho his fenders are a bit rough, he figured it out what he did wrong and the rest of the car looked really good.
He used rattle can.
Ive seen videos, and if done right the rattle can can do a good job. Its self leveling so it should be easier then painting with paint. PLUS from what I read, if you scratch it, you take the extra can you carry in the trunk and just spray the scratch. The cemical reaction will make the scratch dissapear.
I been looking into this for years but I havent found "MY COLOUR" sold in Canada or able to be shipped.

Got the email back from Patrick from Canadian DYC, the kit listed on that page is actually 15 cans for $225. The 3gal with sprayer is $360. Both are plus tax, shipping to me is ~$53, might be cheaper for those in the East. Jay, the place I linked should be able to get you that kit. In regards to the scratch and recoating, plasti-dip is a very high VOC single component coating which "cures" by evaporation. Only 25% of what is in the can actually stays behind on your car, the other 75% is all thinners and solvents that just evaporate away. What this means is, if you use the same solvent that the original resin was suspended in, you can re-suspend the resin. This is both good and bad. Good because, as you mentioned, you can easily repair damage by getting the affected area to re-flow and cover the scratch. Bad because if any of solvents touch the coating, it will adversely affect it. Since the primary solvent for plasti-dip is a petroleum product, gasoline will affect it. It is also the high VOC content that allows it to level out so well. Here is the datasheet http://www.plastidip.com/docs/Rubber%20Dip.pdfMSDS http://www.plastidip.com/docs/rubber_dip_spec_sheet.pdfRubber dip is the exact same as plasti-dip, only difference is the packaging - rubber dip is sold from the gallon up, plasti-dip is the consumer marketed in smaller containers and rattle can.

I am really curious if that pre dip stuff is worth it. Deep and I picked up some plastidip from the states a while back, he grabbed the pre dip and I did not. Pretty sure neither of us have dipped our rims yet but I am curious if it makes a huge difference.

I meant it more about the oil and gas on the tranny, I haven't had either spill or seep on my tranny. Antifreeze 'yes', oil or gas 'no'.
But you are right, oil or gas ponding on it will start to dissolve it back to its liquid state until the gas has a chance to evaporate out. If you soak a rag in gasoline and kept wiping at it, you'll eventually get somewhere - how much rubbing, I'll test when I get my batch in, hopefully the start of next year.

750! what colour are you doing. The most expensive kit is 350 I think, we can have a hangout in your driveway and do it.
As the weather is warming up I will probably be doing my rims pretty soon.

I would go for it, I was planning on picking up the whole kit, so you can just grab a few gallons.

Chris I will probably be going for the blue, still on the fence as the other option I was looking at was black and white (matte for all of them)
Unfortunately for the glossy guys it only comes in rattle can (at least that was the case last time I checked)

Anyone use the clear stuff? Is it glossy? I was thinking of spraying the front of my ralliart to protect from the sandblasting effect and small rock chips.
