Bryan, was the discount on previous orders off of the same $21 base price? I did not discuss a volume discount with him. We are paying $21/lb and I'm going to pick it up in person, so I'll return shipping fees to all of you smile I'll mention the discount and that we are in the same group, maybe he'll put even more cash back in our pockets.

I just prefer eBay over e-mail because it has a triple layer of security for person to person transactions. With $828 on the line it was a no-brainier! crazy

Yeah that's the same price, pretty sure when we discussed it he said anything over 10lbs.
Ebay charges fees so he may not actually be able to give us the discount.
I always ask him for a paypal invoice and then pay him like that.
Haha yeah, it was hilarious I told the boss how much our last order was and he was in shock at how much money we spent on Jerky, and I was too cause I never really calculated the total for the whole order before tongue

You guys ever get a bag that is sealed with air in it? Whereas other bags are actually vacuum sealed?

Anyone know a reason for this?

Yeah, the bag must have been punctured just a pinhole. Easy to happen with the sharp pieces in there. I got one in each order so it happens, eat that one first wink

Well it's probably happened about 3 times and I've checked for punctures by compressing the bag with my hands and seeing if the air was leaking from anywhere. And every time, perfect seal, just has air in it.

Thought this was strange and wondered if anyone else has come across this..?

I had the same thing happen to me last time too, Mike.

I just did the same thing Rob did, eat that bag first.

Perfect seal, no leaks, but theres air in the bag.

I generally get at least one that does that every order. If you left pressure on the bag for an extended period of time, you'd notice small amounts of air leaving. It's just a slightly imperfect seal.

+1 to the "just eat it first".

Edit: When we were doing the group purchases I would generally just take the "blow ups" for myself, which might be why you haven't seen it yet Mike smile

Laszlo says sorry about the bags. He ran out of vacuum bags and since it was a pick-up order he didn't think ziploc would be a problem. He said to put it in the fridge and it will be fine.

I promise I didn't sample yours smile

Likewise!

Oh man I'm in flavour country!

That Smokey Naga Morich is nice, if you like the Bhut you should love this one. It's a bit hotter I think.

And the jerky sticks are a first. Now I need to try the rest of them.

My name is Rob and I'm a Jerkyoholic. shuffle

I just tried the Smokey Naga Morich and Spicy Biltong flavours for the first time recently. I agree that Naga Morich is in a similar category to the Bhut: fairly spicy, but incredibly delicious. Hard to tell which is hotter of the two.

Biltong is also quite delicious, and really not that spicy at all. I find it less spicy than Cajun style. The cuts he uses for this flavour are really nice too (they're like jumbo sticks).

I got some of his Habanero for the first time too, but haven't cracked the bag yet. I'm excited for that one.

I love the Biltong, glad I grabbed it.
I grabbed the habanero for a buddy and he said I could try it, nice flavour but a bit too spicy for me!
Thanks for arranging this one Rob!

Mmm, mmm, good!

My tastebuds, stomach lining, and asshole thank you Rob! Haha

I've noticed since this stuff is made to order, and handmade, it's inconsistent with the flavours for me so far.

The Honey Garlic HOT is much more Honey Garlicy this time around, it's really good.

I'm not digging the Cajun, and don't think anyone else would like the flavour either. It's very flat.

Gonna try the Biltong next time, but the texture of the jerky sticks is awesome.

Noticed it's softer this time around with possibly different cuts of meat?

I like it this time around much better than the super hard break your teeth off texture of the last order, even though it was delicious.

Thoughts?

I am a fan of the Cajun, it's probably one of my favorites.

I always get the stick as I prefer the texture as it's usually softer. From what I have read, he does use different cuts of meat so you can get different textures in the bag.

If I could get the Cajun Style cuts/texture in Honey Garlic & Bhut flavours, I would be in absolute heaven!

I agree 100%.

I'm looking forward to thing out those new flavours though. I'll try and get an order in next month.

Seriously this!

Although the batch I got feels this way. There are a lot of thinner softer strips this time around, and I'm delighted!

I always get the stick as I prefer the texture as it's usually softer. From what I have read, he does use different cuts of meat so you can get different textures in the bag.

Maybe I got a batch that's not as flavourful or something, but to me it's a very flat flavour, when cajun should be very strong and salty.

Mine is a bit flat too but I find the sticks to have more of a beef and fat flavour, with just a touch of pepper/spice. It's different and nice if you want something "pure" without that spicy overload.
