DRL's aren't necessary the issue. It's the illuminated dash along with it. Because when it gets dark and I can't see my cluster, I would be more inclined to turn on my lights and illuminate it. But when they're on all the time, and I have lights out front, and I'm stupid, how else would I know I need to turn my lights on?

The thing that bothers me even more is when the cops do it. All the new Fords they have for cruisers are the same way. I always see pigs driving a Ford SUV with no lights on, just the dim front DRL's.


The issue is now that most dashes are all digital/LED/LCD with no actual mechanical bits - or very few, anyways - it's pretty much always bright enough to read, even when it's dim.
