It is with a heavy heart, that I must tell you of the passing of an extremely long term DSM'er. Truly, one of the good ol' boys... Over the weekend, we lost Andrew Chin. AC was always a bright light, always a happy jovial guy, with a hearty handshake that far exceeded his size, but showed you the size of his heart. There is so much I want to say, but I can't bring the words. Maybe later. Saying that he'll be missed, doesn't begin to tell the tale... ------------------------- Viewing: Wednesday May 5th from 5:00pm - 9:00pm. Highland Funeral Home 3280 Sheppard Ave East Scarborough, Ontario Canada M1T 3K3 http://tinyurl.com/2kvd3 Funeral Service: Thursday May 6th at 11:00am. St Bartholomew's Roman Catholic Church 59 Heather Road, Scarborough, ON M1S 2E2 http://tinyurl.com/ytqxd Many are planning on driving their DSM in honour of AC. It would be great to see some DSMs there, as I know that he truly did love these cars. The sound of a few BOVs should put a smile on his face We're in no way implying to drive like an idiot, just a salute to AC by showing up in a car that he loved so much. A small (or big) convoy up to his final resting place would be nice.

Wow, I really don't know what to say? I remember meeting Andrew Chin from my very first meet (I believe it was the August 1998 meet). He walked right up and introduced himself, which was a real relief for a nervous first timer. We talked for a while, and he asked me about my car, seeming genuinely excited when he described the mods I could do. The following couple of meets, and every time I saw him after that, he always said hello, and we'd talk for a while. AC was a big reason that I came to so many of those early meets, and probably a big part of why I'm still so involved in the club and this UBB. He'll will definitely be missed...

It's not fair to lose a great guy, a good friend like Andrew Chin. Why? why is it that "only the good dies young?
To those who don't know AC, he was a great contributor to Club DSM. Yes indeed, he was a happy guy...he kept the enthusiasm flowing with intense energy during the early days of this Club. I honour him as one of the builders of the strong foundation of Club DSM Canada.
AC, my friend...You may rest in Peace.

My condolences to his family & friends. I as well did not know him. I know how it is to loose someone, as do we all. Some are harder then others. This seems to be a tough one to swallow for some. But just remember he is looking over us, probably smiling at my ricer, and hey maybe even knows when Darko will be off the jackstands!
One thing i learnt, is you can only be happy for someone who passed away, because right now, there smiling down on us and realising what they have and ALL what we dont.!

That smile. That enthusiasm for things most people wouldn't think twice about. God speed AC. You are dearly missed.
Now, I'll have all kinds of time to talk about DSMs, because I won't be busy fixing mine!

I talked to Andrew on the phone last week, we were making plans to do his timing belt. He bought all the parts from Adam Clay and we were just figuring on a day to do it. I'm thinking to myself, he'll call me up anytime now and we'll get to work on it. I can't believe I've lost my friend.

I haven't talked to Andrew in over a year but this really hits home because of the type of guy he was. You know when you meet someone that just seems so real..? You know that not a word that comes out of his mouth is a lie. When you talked to him he listened with interest. And if you asked him for a favour he would do it without a second thought. I remember the time he spent the day at my parents house years ago while I soldered new caps into his ECU.. or the time we went out to buy me some shocks & springs from a guy he knew. I remember feeling TALL around AC... quite a novelty for me! I was not nearly as close to AC as some of the guys here, but in the few years that I've known him he has made a diference in my life and I will remember him always. Godspeed AC!

AC will truely be missed. He would always bug me everytime he sees me to finish my talon, get it running... He was a great guy, always there for you when you needed a hand or someone to chat to. I can still hear him in my head... those who knew him would know if "frig". Plus he was the one that introduced me to the Talon and all it's glory Keep on Boostin Chin!! RIP
