OK, then the 26th it is. I'm in Montreal Saturday but I think back Sunday. I'll try to get to the South Keys Spot prior to 3:00 PM to stake out some space.

OK, I was going to ask everyone a question at the meet but since the meet isn't going to happen tomorrow I'll ask you guys now. What is everyone doing on the 20th (this Monday)? If the weather is good I'm going to Shannonville for few laps around their 4km course. $5/lap or $20 for 5 laps. I've never been there but a few DSM guys from TO seem to be regulars (see the "Shannonville May 20th!!!" post on this board). I don't have a huge list of mods but it'll be great to give it my all on a real race track. Unless it rains I'm going down for sure. Is anyone else from Ottawa interested?

Erik, I'd be right alongside you if my car wasn't in the garage getting some engine work done. Too bad the Thunderbird, Mustang, and CRX are not really track worthy, cause I'd love to get at least some track time this spring...

Hey Guys,
I'm in Mississauga this weekend for a Pro-solo, so I'd have voted A as well if I'd been on time reading this thread...
Next Sunday is the second MCO autocross at Jetform Park, so I'll be there until about 4 or 5 probably, but I can make my way over to a meet afterwards. You could also hold the meet at Jetform or the St. Laurent Center, there usually isn't a space issue there. BTW, if any of you want to drive at the autocross, just show up at Jetform between 8 and 9 to register! I'd be good to have some DSM company at these things...
Later, Allan. 97 TSi AWD
ps. For you lapping guys, I'll try and drop by Shannonville on my way back to Ottawa on Monday if there is still some light by then, but I suspect that I'll be too late for the PPL again!

Sorry guys. Missed it again. Was at the cottage all weekend. I only remembered about the meet at 6pm while driving home. Too bad. Maybe next time. Like I said before we should have a set date and place every month, that way people can book mark the date. John

I had the f@%kin' flu all weekend and no computer to reply where I was. Crap, it was beautiful on Sunday too! Nice little turnout though. So pissed I didn't get to come. Oh well, it'll give me some time to get my brick running smooth and somewhat worthy to park beside (or in the same picture as) everbody elses DSM's. I agree with a set place/time/day of month idea though. Nice pics Tom! (and sorry, I just got your email this morning as I said above, no comp this past weekend. )

Sorry Guys...again. I was in Montreal and got delayed. By the time I got back into town yesterday I had to work on a report for my Masters course, "Open Bid Solicitation in Slovakia". I'm for a regular scheduled event time frame and meet at South Keys. "Perkins"? T

I'm actually working on the Ottawa website. I am also speaking with a friend of mine about getting our own .ca address, so hopefully it will be up and running comes summer. I'm pretty sure the workload is light enough to keep it to myself, but if you would like to do something for the site, feel free to contact me and I'll see what can be done. For the record, once the .ca address is confirmed, I will begin collecting Ottawa-area membership fees in order to get the site up and running. Hopefully I will have worked out some form of forum by then so that we can begin standing on our own feet instead of using the ca.dsm.org bandwidth, which I'd like to mention we appreciate very much. Thumbs up to ca.dsm.org for being good sports through this.

John, Thanks for your .02 cents. Unfortunately, the ca.dsm.org administrators do not wish to share their bandwidth with our local members and our local events, etc. so I am building us our own server with our own forum and much, much more. What benefit would a .ca website provide local DSM drivers? Plenty. I am setting up many discounts with the various speedshops around town (you should have known that, John ) as well as local events, such as at Luskville or even at the AutoX (Alan has more details at the moment), not to mention the various car shows I will be appearing in perhaps not this year but definitely next year - everyone from our local club shall be exempt from fees. Needless to say, this is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to what the site will bring the local drivers. If you want to set it up and carry the costs that's up to you. I AM setting it up and building the site in my own spare time, out of my own free will. If you don't want to pay the LITTLE membership fee, by all means don't. I am not bringing this up as a surprise to anyone who has attended the last few meets I have been to, as they have all been made aware I am doing this project and they have all agreed to pay a small fee to have our own server. I don't think the fee will be too rich for anyone's blood. There are plenty of free web space providers out there. True, there are many out there. How many will give us enough space to host a full forum with individual user identities, our various car pictures, and huge loads of webspace? None. That's why we will be forced to pay for our own server. Our own bandwidth. Somewhere the people from Ottawa can call "home" and not have to worry about using up all the bandwidth on ca.dsm.org. We have Club DSM Canada and I feel that there isnt enough interest from the local scene to require a personal Ottawa dsm website. You feel that there isn't enough need, but obviously your voice does not speak for everyone in the area since I have received ENORMOUS interest and support for this idea. I figure it's worth it since we will get basically everything the ca.dsm.org site has to offer, save that it will be local members and events, etc. posted on the board, updated daily. If anyone else has any questions/comments about the website, rather than posting here, please feel free to contact me via e-mail. Thank you.
