Hey all, this has been an ongoing problems with my 92. I recently just disabled it in my ECMLink which solved my erratic idle and hard starts, but when it is enabled, the coolant SOMETIMES hits the proper temperature, but for the most part sits at anywhere between -40F and 60F, and then I get a Coolant Temp Sensor Circuit Malfunction DTC through Link.

Now, I've replaced it once with a GM Sensor, and I've tried some aftermarket sensor, which didn't have a plug in, so you have to use clips, and it seems to still be an issue. I was wondering if there is any actual circuit board for the coolant temp sensor, or if it's just the 2 wires?

If it's just the 2 wires, I suppose I need to just find an OEM sensor.

Find an OEM sensor and check your wires for abrasions. Those two wires tend to break over time.

Yeah I'd second that, it's probably the wiring.

Is your thermostat opening?

If its the wiring, an OEM sensor isn't going to fix it...

I'll go through the wiring and see if I can find any damage to it. I was more so wondering if there is an actual circuit that took care of it, more than just the 2 wires that come off of it.

I will have to go through really carefully. Thanks all for the answers.

There's no special circuit, the ECU just measures resistance.
