Hi

Recently my car had little hesitation when
I was accelerating after a stop. Little but
noticeable.
I changed the plugs, it solved the problem
for about a month, and now the problem is back. What could be the problem.
I thinked about an O2 sensor problem because
I'm not satisfied with my gas mileage, but
I'm not sure.

What do you think?

Have you looked at the computer for a code??? Bad o2 sensor!!!

How old is the air and fuel filter??? In what kind of conditions are your plug wire???

Clean your Throttle body and the injectors. That could be a good start.

Hope this helps.

Bonne fin de journée.

Ghislain.

I installed a set of Accel 300+ 3000 km ago.
The filter is a K&N about the same age of the cables.
I made two injectors cleaner treatment on the last 2 fill up of gaz.
So I eliminated the filter and wires problem.

I've put the meter on the ecu and there's no
error code.???
On my next oil change, I`ll have a fuel filter installed: We will see.

if you have a turbo and running high boost, your spark plug may have too big of a gap.

I still vote for wires. I had a NEW set of wires on my car that didn't operate correctly. Circumstances were similar - new plugs helped, but only for a little while, and then the problem came back. A different set of wires was required to permanently fix the problem, even though every test we tried on the first set said they were ok.

I'm betting a new fuel filter will do nothing for you, but I could be wrong.

Regarding the oxygen sensor, the O2 sensor has to be reeeeeealy dead before the ECU will notice.

Thanks for your help folks.

Sean, I'll put back the OEM cables, since I still have them, and I will be able to tell
you if the doctor was right [Linked Image]
Thanks again.

Michel : are you saying plug gap need to be smaller when you are running higher boost? Or is it that it is more important that they be of the proper gapping? I just changed mine before instaling my boost controler and gapped them to 0.032 (is it that??)

Thanks

Larger gap means more power but higher risk of not firing. Smaller gap means less power but much more consistant firing.

So you can get stutter or hesitation from a plug that is gapped too far.
