Hi Everyone,

Now some of you may know that I am in the process of selling my talon due to a nasty incident involving a corner and a steep ditch.

The question I have is that I went to show the car to someone and started it up (no problems there, it runs like a top) Oil Pressure fine, Oil and Coolant both good, compression test fine, temp normal: now when you take of the oil filler cap with the car running it sounds as if exhaust is coming out of the filler hole, kind of like a gurgling drain.

Any Ideas????

If it something bad I really can't in good conscience sell the car like this (as the drive train is the main selling point of the car)

Any Help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds bad, you should just sell it for a good price and hope the guy gives you a ride back home lol

you could try comparing the sound you hear to another car to find out if the sound is normal...

I mean there is oil flowing from the top of the engine down to the bottom thru the oil galleries and it might make a gurgling sound.

Len, thanks for the tip, it's just strange because in all my years as a gearhead I have never heard anything quite like it.

I've never heard of a "gurgling" sound from the oil cap either....Maybe you could use a digital recorder and post the sound so we know what your talking about....(j/K)

I checked yesterday after i added a bit of oil, i couldnt hear anything outta my cap. just the usual HUUMMMMMmmmmmmmmm....

Is she overfilled mabey ???
