Last weekend I pulled the car outta storage and couldn't start it because the battery was dead.

No prob, so I purchased a new one (Eliminator from CT) and it started the first time without problems. I let it sit there for about 5/10 mins checked all guages/oil level and everything seemed fine. Threw it in reverse (AT) and then the idle started dropping until it sputtered and then stalled.

Put it back in park, started it, no problem again, let it idle for a little longer, sounded fine. This time went into Drive and it started to stall again so I had to play with the rev's and brakes just to get the car home.

It starts fine and idles fine in Park or Neutral, but as soon as I go to actually drive it, it's done?

Any ideas? thoughts? comments? suggestions?
It's a 92 Laser RS (NT + AT)

Thanks in advance...

Check your idle speed controller (on the throttle body). It may be dead or the wires may have popped off.

On my DL, the wires popped off and the motor actually shorted out and stopped working. I didn't want to spend the $300 for a new ISC, so I just tightened BISS (base idle speed screw) to raise the idle as compensation. Idles high in P and N, but doesn't sputter out in D or R wink

Thanks Rob, I'll check that out tonight and see if that fixes the problem.
