I have just got my car back from the shop. They dropped a JDM engine in. On the way home it was just burning off all the oils. I took it out today and i smell gas? I can not open my hood yet (other reasons) But i was wondering what they could have missed? Leaking? I felling up, and its not like my gas is plumbiting. So just a small leak i am assuming?

So any help would be amazing guys! thanks alot.

Don not run your engine until you know what it is!
And, if you don't lift your hood you may never know.

Well it could be weaping out around your injectors possibly they used old injector o rings? I would power up the fuel pump and see if you can see anything coming out around the injectors...

Wow this is really funny, your 12 years old, everything is funny. bird ...

Anyway i am going to assume after talking to Rob and he has suggested gas emmisions, cause there is no puddle or leaking.

Im assuming you mean raw gas? Check around the injectors for minor leaks (do it while the pump is priming or with the car on, whatever) then start looking up and downstream of the rail at all the fittings and joints. There aren't TOO many spots where it could leak, and if its on the pressurized side you should be able to spot it relatively fast... if its on the return side, it wouldn't be 'gushing' out as visibly.

I used to smell gas in my old Talon all the time but there were no visible leaks anywhere.

Obviously its not enough.... Its NEVER enough, and If you think you have "enough" power, then please leave your genitles at the door. Also, lets not forget everything is in good fun, just cause you find back to the future to be offensive in anyway is your problem.

Actually, the problem is the complaints (yep, that's plural) we've been getting about your posts here.

A good bit of them seem to be senseless drivel that is of no use to the people involved in the discussion. Trust me, it's not Andrew's problem, it's yours. Please, if you're not going to add anything constructive to a topic, don't bother adding to it at all. (I wouldn't consider this a warning, so much, as an explanation, so, you've still got 2 to go..)

Josh: There is a fuel pump test connector on the firewall behind the battery (small, female spade connector). If you apply 12V +ve to this, it will run the pump constantly. It will help you find the leak without requiring you to run the engine.

Now, I'll have all kinds of time to talk about DSMs, because I won't be busy fixing mine!

His EVAP hose is not attached to the compressor inlet pipe.
If the port off the charcoal canister is not plugged, there will certainly be a gas smell.

Well i let her run checked under the car and no leak. Took a close look at the fuel rail and nothing.
Little oil over (friggen dipstick pops out every once and a while!) But no gas. Just fumes.
I believe Rob is correct though, and i will get in there tomarrow and fix her.

Also thanks for those who can also see that Jonny has nothing relivent to say in any post.

None the less, again thanks for the advice. Just getting use to the turbo engine, so alot more to learn now about the internals!

If you think the car is driveable with no risk, then take it to Radim for a look.

You had better get that dipstick fixed too!! check if the rubber is hard or just pinch the top of the tube with pliers to make it harder for the stick to come out.

That's what I did when I got my car back from Radim. He said he likes to raise the pressure on them a bit. First couple of dipstick pops were messy ones tongue

But I just crimped it and it's never happened again.
