i'm having this problem where upshifting into 2nd is okay...but downshifting and going from neutral into second i have to literally force it it!

when it finally goes it it's okay and doesn't pop out or anything...and it's only 2nd gear this is happening...

just recently i've been getting a "whoomp whoomp" noise when in gear coming from the engine bay i think tranny related...and only occuring when in gear

any ideas???

someone must've had this problem before

is my clutch going or something tranny related???

I had a similar problem a couple times.Once it was a spring clip in the shift fork which half broke off letting it sometimes go in and sometimes not.Another was about an inch of shift fork broke off.It could also be your clutch.check your hydraulics and amount of play at the slave.good luck

the hydrolics are okay...no leaks

are the shift forks visible from the engine bay or under the car? i don't like taking apart things that my mech usually does

unfortunately the shift forks are in the tranny.
