Yea I noticed that about Pioneer. They used to carry "Magnum 93" but it doesn't seem like they still do. They used to get their gas from Suncor (Sunoco), maybe the switched suppliers?

So basically, the only place to get over 91 octane in the GTA is Sunoco?

The rumour is that Pioneer 91 is actually Sunoco 94. Pioneer is somehow affiliated to Sunoco and they chose not compete directly with each other for premium grade customers. Thats why they label there gas as 91 not 94. I still only trust that Sunoco is the true king of premium.

But isn't mid-grade just a blend of low-grade and high-grade?
What does that do to the "89"?

Who wants to be the guinea pig?
Tune your car to the limit (on the real stuff), and then put in some "91"... See what happens lol

I thought this too. The other day I was on my way out of town and put 20 bucks of pioneer 91 in. It definatly is not the same. I was getting 10+ counts of knock at low boost and I could feel it was running rough. I ran it through, put in a full tank of 94 and back to normal, maybe 2-4 counts for full throttle.

Pioneer 93 used to be sunoko 94 but they discontinued it. Yes they are affiliated. (same corperation) GTO also carries sunoko 94, same company as well.

After posting that msg, I emailed Pioneer and yeah, they have stopped carrying Magnum 93 (That was really Ultra 94 or a slightly mixed down version of it). They wouldnt tell me if they still get their gas from suncor.

Rob S., Mid-Grade is a mix of the Premium and Regular - it gets mixed at the pump. The trucks only carry Regular and Premium (or Diesel duh).

Rob C, what/who is GTO?? Don't remember ever seeing them are they K/W only?

GTO gas stations are all over the tri city area. It might be a K-town thing, dont know. All I do know is they are owned by the same company as Sunoko and they have Ultra 94.
