Lately my 91tsi FWD has been running a bit strangely after it is warmed up. Doesn't happen all the time or when cold and I'm wondering if this could be a symtom of a dying 02 sensor. The car will hesitate a bit under light throttle and kind of hicup at times when cruising at low speeds around 3k rpm. Runs fine under WOT though. Plug wires are pretty new and I even swapped them out with some others which didn't cure it so I'm ruling that out for the time being. I've also been getting irratic gas mileage (from 250 miles to as much as 380 to a tank). Even had the check engine light blink a few times lately.
The car has 120k miles on it and looking at the service records it had something called a "Recall 534" done in 1992 which was a sensor of some sort it looks like. Anybody know what that might have been for?
Also, prices on 02 sensors seem incredibly expensive. Generally I'm seeing figures of near $100US for these.....sheesh. Is that a normal price for these things?

Just call Adam at Eastway Chrysler Scarborough, see the for sale section. They have Mitsu O2 sensors on sale for $100.00! That is less than half of what it used to be a few years ago. I paid $180.00 for a Non OEM O2 sensor three years ago. ------------------ '91 Laser RS Turbo-"Sound Advice" guy. http://www.geocities.com/rsturbo.geo Turbo + Intercooler = The replacement for Displacement
