For this last month I've been trying to get my hands on this 96 esi in Renfrew. I needed this car for parts to get mine going again. I've talked to the guy numerous times to confirm that this is the car that I need. I passed up on one last week that was closer and would have cost me less in the long run, because I'm a man of my word. Well today is and was the day, I got up early, got my $70+ Uhaul trailer, spent over $100 on fuel and a grand total of 12 hours driving. I get lost in Renfrew because of poor directions, wait for the guy where he says to meet, confirm with his girlfriend over a long distance cell phone call about where I'm supposed to be and what happens? I show up to find a 1992 Talon Esi, in horrible shape. I wasted a day of work, about $200 in total expenses and a day to hang out with my girlfriend, just because some idiot doesn't have the balls to tell me that the car is in fact not as he told me. I'm f#$king pissed off, anyone know what the **** I should do? Please let me know, I need to vent! Cheers

Been there, done that. I traded a N.O.S {New old stock...old factory part that collected dust for 30 years...the musclecar guys love it} Carter thermoquad carburetor. It was worth about 550.00 but I agreed to trade on a mint 72 Duster d/s door, front bumper, frame connectors and 2 small bolt mopar rally wheels. The idiot got here and had a ROTTED door, RUSTED frame connectors from a B-body {like a stealth part when you need a talon part} and rusted wheels. He drove 4 hours and his scam talk and BS got him away. I'll never forget that. Beware of Bad People.

I had 2 incidents just a few weeks ago.

92 TSI AWD in good condition and no rust.
Called before I drove to Fort Erie, asked if there is anything more he would like to tell me bafore I drop by. Guy just said come down and see it.

Car turned out to have a fried fuel pump, so its non-running and has completely rusted brakes. Checked the compression 30psi on all 4. Complete waste of my time. No rust maybe, but the paint was all badly dulled and faded. Being nice, I offered him $900 but he said he has an offer for $1500, I just plainly told him to sell it to whomever it was.

The other car was a 92 TSI FWD in Guelph, guy said new JDM head/timign belt and such, with suposely an 18G but needed brakes. Well, when I got there, yep, it needed brakes. It had none. No calipers, no rotors. Car fires up but sounded weird, so I asked to do a comp test. 60-70 psi on the 3 cyc. I tested. Another complete waste of time.

This guy was a complete moron as well. Had his ricer friend drop by and bug me when I was taking a look at the car, and while I was looking at the car, he continually took "offers" on the phone to jack up the price. His friend was a joke, kept telling me how fast the car was. I almost wanted to tell him off. .."..hey buddy, STFU, you drive a civic, anything other than a civic is fast to you."

I hope no one on the board bought those 2 white 92s. If you did, good luck to you.

Sorry to hear about the wasted time.

It won't get your expenses back but the least you could do is post their name and village in the Good Guy/Bad Guy section. That way you may save one of us from wasting our time and perhaps the turkeys will never get a sale.

Robert, don't worry man. It's not your fault, Sheldon had numerous opporitunities to inform me about the model year, he simply didn't. The car might be worth parts if anyone needs a 92/94 Talon, but not for me. Once again, I'm looking for a car so I can be back on the road, this isn't exactly where I wanted to be today. Cheers

to go and see a suppose Mint TSI and what a waste of Time and Money. Paint was peeling of the mirrors the leather was all ripped up and
the guy was running 17PSI on Stock Injectors and
pump,, We took a look at the plugs and they where lean. TOTAL Waste of Time
