Anyone in Toronto run one? I'm looking at the higher end model, the one with 2 valves. I hate boost spikes. I need one that doesn't bleed off at high RPMS too.
If you got one, let me know how it is. How many pounds you are running and how much you paid, I think I can get one from Marco for like $230 plus tax or something.
thanks

Ronnie, the cheapy manual ones seem to do quite well on these cars, even on the more wildly modded cars (e.g. Marc Hallman went 11s on his basic ball and spring type MBC). If you hold off on the more expensive boost controller (for now at least) you can build your own ball and spring type for almost nothing and spend the money on another mod. Your car and your money of course, just a suggestion.

For what it's worth, I have been very pleased with the "XBC" unit that I got from Extreme Motorsports. I have it set at ~14.5Psi, and I have yet to have to adjust it, or fiddle with it. This is a very capable unit. It's still a ball and spring set up, but a little more durable than the standard fishtank valve. Furthermore, it's practically one of the first things that attracts people's eyes when the hood is open, due to the fine anodized blue finish, and large easy-to-grip red adjustment knob. "Wow cool! What is THIS thing for??" Dan [ December 06, 2001: Message edited by: Dan Sarkar ]

The vladamir bustamante MBC works very good too, and its only $40 bucks mailed to your door.

I got the Joe P. manual boost controller for $80 canadian, haven't had a problem yet, it'd set a 15 psi, and it holds great.
If your going to spend $230 for a MBC, spend a little more and get an electronic one
