Hi-I installed a S-AFC on my car.
Basically My mods are:
3inch turbo back with high flow cat
open K&n with lower honey comb and screw backed out
S-AFC
NGK wires with BP7ES
Apexi Bov
Walbro 255(not hooked up yet-stock fuel pump for now)
stock turbo with stock IC-boost-15 psi

Well, I'm still getting familiar with this unit. I was wondering if any of you guys can tell me what Hi/Lo settings to keep it at for these mods.
Thanks

I think you should get an EGT gauge or datalogger before you start playing with it. It's fully capable of blowing up your engine. [Linked Image]

Reza,

as Scott mentioned check out the RRE site, it's a good place to start to get up to speed with the S-AFC and some baseline settings and tuning. It will get you started, but because each of us has something slightly different done to our cars no 'one' set of values that would work on my car would work on your's or say Steve K's or Chris H's, etc..

in your list of mods, you didn't list anywhere if you had an A/F gauge or EGT. To basically reiterate what Terry said do not mess with the AFC unless you have a diagnostic tool to track the effect of the value changes during tuning. Failure to do so could lead to you blowing your engine.

There are a number of us on this board that are running S-AFCs, run a search using the keyword S-AFC, etc. to see what has been discussed. If there is something that doesn't appear there, post a question HERE under the Fuel Systems Tuning forum. One of us should be able to help

Thanks for the info Craig, I've checked out RRE site and it's pretty useful.
I do have a boost guage, and an autometer A/F guage, running stock injectors, IC and turbo, and 94 octane. I'll be installing some ic pipes soon.

Reza,

sounds like you're heading in the right direction. The autometer A/F will give you a decent ball park for tuning, but if that is all you will be using to gauge your tuning (I'd caution against it.. you should have an EGT) change things in small increments and make absolutely sure you don't lean the car out too much trying to find the power [Linked Image]

The EGT situation: it tends to give a more accurate indication of how the engine is running by measuring the temperature exiting the engine. They are relatively inexpensive (about $150CAN to your door) and as many of us have found, they are extremely valuable in the tuning process..

here's a couple quick links for some background on EGTs

http://www.ca.dsm.org/non-cgi/Forum2/HTML/002134.html

for more info run a quick search thru all the forums with the key word "egt"...

hope this helps, tuning an S-AFC can be a bit like playing with a caged monster.. if you do it right, you can really tame the beast inside.. if you take short cuts or don't pay attention it will get the best of you [Linked Image]
