Have any of you heard of NOS octane boost? I was just wondering, if the race only formula would be alright to put in? I'm just curious as to what the effects would be. It boosts the octane 7 points? compared to the normal street use one (3 points). The race only one has this Nitro Methane additive? What is it? Is it safe to put this in my car? Thanks

The only fact that I have ever heard about octane boost, is that unless it's in the gas to start with, putting something else in, won't help...
Well, it might reduce knock, but not the way true octane in the gas does.

Another point to mention is that an octane "point" is .1 of the gas pump rating.. ie: That octane booster would raise 94 octane to 94.7 not 101 like a lot of people think.. ------------------ 1992 Eagle Talon Tsi FWDSuperiority after 60'.. ICQ # 9622983 My Home Page...

Octane booster in bottles is okay, but IMHO is a ripoff. just buy toluene or xylene and make your own a la www.turbobuick.com. Or just get 98 to 114 octane gas at the pump from one of many race gas fuel stations (like in Streetsville). There's advantages to being a reformed V8 mullet-head. ------------------ Allan Mazda 626 1994 Buick GN turbo ported/clipped, FMIC, Quaife LSD, V6 2.8L, 315 fwp @ 12 PSI, 306 ft/lbs

Steetsville? Where the hell is that? I thought the only place to get race fuel was at the track. Would you mind sharing with us a couple of places in TO that sell race fuel?

Streetsville, is in Mississauga. Roughly 401 and Mississauga road, and head South into town. There's a little place, just off the main drag, that sells the stuff. I don't recall the name of it, but it's just around the corner from my former high school... ------------------ Andrew Bienhaus1997 Eagle Talon TSi AWD - Shhhhh... The Mongoose is Hibernating...
