As the subject says, can my n/t ECU properly control 450cc injectors? Will I be running extremely rich?

Thanks in advance
Jeff.

Your ECU doesn't know when you've switched your injectors, so it'll treat them like the stock 390cc ones (is that what stock NT's are?).

You'll be getting an extra %20 (or somethin like it) of fuel across the board. So yes, you'll be running very rich and it'll hurt your performance noticeably.

Actually the n/t are 27lbs injectors. Why do you want to use the turbo injectors, when even the turbo cars (stock) run rich with?

There will be a turbo going on this n/t in the weeks to come. I just want to get the fuel system running well first.

You'll need an AFC/AFR to control the bigger injectors.

What about swapping the ECU to the Turbo ECU to control them? I don't remember reading that an AFC would be required for a turbo conversion.

Isnt an ECU part of the turbo conversion? If so, you'll be fine with 450cc injectors.

If you keep using the stock ECU, you WILL need some form of fuel control to lean out the 450s, unless you run the right amount of boost and by some miracle the fuel trims are spot on.

Thanks Darko. I was trying to be cheap and find a way to NOT use the Turbo ECU. I guess its an important piece to this conversion puzzle. Thanks for the help!

Jeff.

Yes the turbo ECU must be used. You will also need to get the injector resistor pack and wire them in. The NT injectors run at about 50 Ohm and the turbo at about 5. Or something like that.
You will also need it to hook up the knock sensor and boost control solinoid. There is also a fuel pressure solinoid but I don't think that it is manditory. And don't forget the turbo fuel pressure regulator which I belive is rising rate, and has a different value then the NT (don't remember what though)

knock monitoring is almost a must and the NT ecu i in capable of reading it.

otherwise you shoot the engine fairly fast
