Hi all I have bought some 1 5/8 lowering springs for my 94 AWD. What I want to know is has anyone lowered to this height and if so how was the camber after. The car is a solo car and will not be used everyday so I hope I can just get away with it.

Thanks Matt

The rear suspension is adjustable a bit, and you can get away with 1" lowering springs. Any lower than that and you will have negative camber, but its not that bad.

Matthew,

for camber correction, check out the rear adjustable UCAs available from Ingalls Engineering

I've been very pleased with their performance and adjustability.

Thanks for your help all, I will have the springs in next week and I think im going to make a lower control arm to fix the rear. Has anyone had any experience with any front camber devices?

Thanks Matt

Way too many cars to list smile

You should be able to make due with just cam bolts in the front. Otherwise, some creative grinding to make the holes in the strut or hub 'adjustable' could work.

Let me know how you do your rear control arms. I was thinking of just cutting and drilling holes for steel plate 'bridges' for strength and adjustability. I've heard the Ingalls arms can fail under use.

Hey Troy, where did you hear about Ingalls failing? Cause I got them and they better not fail or I'll be pissed!

The rear upper control arms don't see that much strain under normal use, so it could have been during competition.

The Ingall's design is sound, but the outer joints look flimsy to me in the pictures. I've never seen one in person.

The camber is not the big issue when you lower more than an inch on 1G's. It's the toe-in that will make your handling squirrelly (sp?) in the back and wreck your tires. I had Magnus make me a set of modified upper rear control arms. They are adjustable, strong, and took care of my problem.

The front will not be a problem with the adjustable cam bolts.
