I just filled up again and with the gas prices I've been really paying attention to my gas mileage. Curious as to what everyone else is getting. My 95 TSi AWD gets about 107km/10 litres. That's with a good mix of highway and city.

I get about 20 mpg as well, it would cost me about 80$ to fill the car right now vs. $35-40 I was paying last year.

I can get 29-30 MPG on the hwy at 110 KPH.

Around the city I get around 21-23 MPG.

My best MPG to-date is 32 MPG at 100 KPH.

I get 34 MPG (imperial gallons) or about 12 Km/L combined hwy/city on 91 gas. Taking it easy on the pedal these days though. If I ran the tank down to empty I'd get something over 600K. FWD is good for something! rotate

I'm getting about 500km per tank combined city and hiway. I think a small crack in my exhaust manifold is causing poor milage. I used to get 600-700 km.

"Per tank" is a useless unit of measure, unless you're completely filling and emptying it every time.

I'm getting a good 440kms / tank City and Highway.

That's running 20psi street and 680cc injectors.

Once Premium hit $142 I had to check this out. Last weekend I had an empty tank and had to go to Peterborourgh which usually takes about 3/4 of a tank. Since the cost of gas was crazy and being a holiday weekend the cops were doing another blitz, it was time to take it easy on the pedal. I also decided to cheap out and only buy 89 midgrade to save a few bucks although it theoretically will cost a little in mileage.

Results were pretty good, 8.8L/100KM or about 27mpg for 90% highway driving. Only problem is that I also hooked up the datalogger and the engine started knocking when hitting the gas. Good thing a Sunoco is just down the road, for some 94.

I too have been trying to baby the car to see just how far I can get on a tank. Problem is, I just can't control myself (and my car is stock!).

I ended up getting 500km on the last tank (mainly highway though) It took 45 litres to refill, so I guess that's 9L/100km.

Damn, I get 250 miles to the tank.
I'd be happy if my car were a lot faster for that.

11 L/100km city driving (401 work commute)
9-9.5 L/100km highway cruising (100-130km/h varying speeds)

Always Ultra94 and I alway slow pour the last few litre until the pump auto-stops and don't add more. Keeps the measurement consistent.

Not bad for 342km's I think.

Most expensive gas ever was on the way to Targa Nfld. got gas in N.B south of Miramichi for 1.7x for premium. Yikes!

It's pretty good right now, but I'm running just the Gixxer and the Talon is back on Jackstand Racing duty. Usually 350 kms per tank city, maybe 440 kms highway if I'm lucky.

you think so?

what about running out of gas on 403 and WALKING to gas station.

the gas station guy later asked me if my tank is 64 litres and I said yes!

This is why I always tell people that "per tank" is a useless unit of measure on a DSM. If I filled up when my light came on I'd be putting in about 45 L. I once put in 59.7L after running out of gas on a left hander two corners before the station. I still have the receipt somewhere. laugh

I've also been trying to baby the car around for the last little while trying to see what kind of mileage I can get. So far my best is 9.5 L / 100 KM (about 25 MPG) in a mix of mostly highway and some stop-and-go. I can pretty easily get ~10 L / 100 KM without having to baby it too much.

This is with a big fuel pump and big (750cc) injectors, but the car is tuned well with DSMLink.

91 octane vs. 94 octance seems to make no difference in mileage for me, but I have to remove about 6 degrees of timing in the top end so I can still got WOT once in a while. smile
