There are obviously other supporting mods that people just aren't mentioning. I think the rule is 1/10th for every hundred pounds you rip off the car. It helps, but not enough to put a 14 second car into the 12s. Similar to the estimation that every car length is worth 1/10th as well. If you beat a guy by 5 car lengths, you're about half a second faster than him. These theories work on average, and although there are exceptions to the rule, it usually works out pretty well. They might have a 14B, but they have the full monty on the setup, or piston work or head work, full exhaust, Stand-alone fuel system that allows them to run 28psi, bla, bla, bla that they forgot to mention. Not saying it can't be done, I just don't think you can run 12s on a BPU Talon, although I'd like to think that

That's not true Michael- it doesn't take much to run the 12's. No stand alones, no fiberglass hoods, ect.. Just simple, I ran the side mount, stock turbo, 6cm housing, buschur uic pipe (sold it to Kev Beth), stock bov, 2.5" dp (homemade), I ported the manifold,turbo,02 housing (all 1g). Nothing big here at all, modified the side mount inlet/outlet, hacked my own mas and afc.
NGK wires/ and plugs.
I personally don't think that is alot, and I did it on 20 psi, so really not a lot of boost either. Just tuning it, and setting up the combo. Granted I had no back seats or passenger seat. I could easily have put them in and ran more boost and still get a 12's no doubt.
I think too many people are busy telling themselves it can't be done so they give up and get a bigger turbo. Personally I learned to max out the stock setup to learn about my car and what works, and what doesn't. Once you have a good foundation, when going bigger you have the advantage of having experience to help guide you.
Just my thoughts.
