A sequential shifter is just that... a sequential SHIFTER. It has nothing to do with how the clutch works or whether it's needed in a shift. Most of the times you see a sequential shift transmission it is also dog engagement as well. (WRC cars, motorcycles, etc) Dog engagement trannies can be shifted without the clutch. RRE has simply made a mechanism that moves the two shifter cable in the right positions as you move the shift lever front to back. Nothing inside the tranny has been changed.

the only way this is fully pointless is when they make the system do the clutch work itself. it is not that hard just to have a microcontroller actuate a hydrulic system to disengage!

Amin, let me know when you have the clutch activation worked out. ponder

RRE did not design that. I found a website for that exact shifter over a year ago. Its made in Europe somewhere. RRE just bought one and might be selling it here. The throws are stupid long. If I find that site again I'll post it. Meanwhile there is this...

I would think that if RRE was just buying and reselling that they wouldn't be testing it? What about the tack welds in the design? Looks like they are designing it to me???

That's not a true system I think. It's just an interface for you to change your five speed like a sequential shifter.

Remember that a sequential shifter will ratchet into the next gear in the tranny it self. Not use pnumatic devices to change it for you.

I saw a system like this from Ikeya a while back. I fail to see how this is faster than a regular shifter. This might be cool on a seriously modded tranny that shifts like a motorcycle. MX bikes can be crammed from one gear to the next by barely easing off on the throttle. THAT would be cool on a car.

does this shifter means you have to do like on a bike .. you cant skip gears .. if you wnat to go to 5 you have to pass by all the others.. ?? example you cant go from first to third .. ??
